Re: Asus XG27AQDMG Discussion
You mentioned in this post—and an earlier one that gamma fluctuates with the refresh rate. Would that still be an issue if I disable VRR ?
Yes. The gamma shift is independent of VRR. The lower you set your refresh rate at, the brighter shadows will get.
For example, if I turn off VRR in the ...

Apparently all mods were away from home the last week. When that happens, it can take a while from posts from new members to be approved. It's approved now.

DisplayPort and HDMI standards need to keep up here. You can only push DSC so far before it starts looking like a low quality JPEG.
Also, small correction: it's QHD/HD.

Re: Why AI tells that FPS has not affect on Network ?
Higher FPS increases CPU usage. Network is handled by the CPU so it can have an effect. Also, some game engines can act weird at extremely high frame rates. The thing to realize here is that games are products. They are sold by a business and what they do is put a viable product out there. Not a ...

Re: VRR - how "smooth" should it be when fps fluctuates?
It should be perfect is the FPS cap is perfect. The best FPS limiter currently is the one is SpecialK. But that tool is not suitable for everything (for example online games with anti-cheat.) RTSS and the Nvidia limiter (through the Nvidia control panel's 3D settings) should also give smooth results ...

Re: VRR - how "smooth" should it be when fps fluctuates?
VRR doesn't fix stutter. If there's frame time spikes (like in the RTSS frame time graph), then the game will still stutter, VRR or not.
What VRR fixes is the judder you get when FPS doesn't match Hz. For example if you disable VRR and cap your FPS to, say 70FPS (using NVCP or something like RTSS ...

Re: Is There Any Potential For A Raster Based (Instead of Sub-Frames) CRT Beam Sim?
Such OLED displays do exist actually. Or did exist. They use rolling scan, so output is very similar to a CRT. But they don't display one scanline at a time, but rather a scan bar that is dozens of lines tall. They could only display one scanline if they wanted, but the issue is that this would the ...
