Re: Official Asus ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN Owners Thread

Hi everyone . I would like some help please. The monitor was working fine with HDR, but now the colours looked washed out. I disabled HDR and it still looks washed out. Im using a DP cable and changed to HDMI and still the same. Even the boot screen looks washed out. I tried different cables and co...

Re: Pre-Rendered Frames (scam!?)

Also, would having G-Sync disabled or enabled affect the behaviour of LL? Not directly. If you enable gsync and use ultra LL, then you get an automatic FPS cap that's somewhere between -6 and -2 FPS below the current refresh rate, depending in what that refresh rate is. At 144Hz, you get -6 (138FPS...

Re: PS/2 with modern systems

There are some benefits with PS/2 keyboards (NKRO without needing multiple virtual HIDs mostly, if the keyboard's controller supports it) but with mice, PS/2 doesn't have anything that's better in some actually tangible way.

I use PS/2 for my keyboard, USB for my mouse.

Re: VG27aq reporting refresh 2X FR?

Im going to play around with this right away. As far as I can see though integer scaling is only available on the 1660 and up. Right. I forgot that Pascal GPUs don't integer scale. Sharpening is a good solution though. I was doing that using ReShade way before nvidia added a sharpening shader in th...

Re: VG27aq reporting refresh 2X FR?

this monitor seems to report doubling the refresh rate at anything below 70 fps. Change the in game cap to 71 and then the monitor reports 71. I show this in the pictures. This seems to happen on all three games. Googling this there is talk about doubling refreshes at below the VRR range but this i...

Re: old pc had no gsync brightness fluctuation, new pc has

Some games only run in borderless windowed mode. Some others will run in fullscreen mode that is always using "optimizations", regardless of your compatibility settings, because the game itself has requested to run in that mode.

Re: Pre-Rendered Frames (scam!?)

Are you sure about that? If you swith from llm off to ultra, Max pre-rendered frames setting goes from application controlled to 1. Yeah. It also does that when you set LLM to "on". The point is when that one pre-rendered frame is going to be submitted. With LLM "on", it's gonna be submitted as soo...

Re: Pre-Rendered Frames (scam!?)

How do you explain the difference you seeing between on and ultra, with gsync disabled? Both should have 1 pre-rendered frame, yet they feel different. Even more dubious is that I can tell the difference between off + max pre-render 1(set in nvinspector) and ultra in a game like kovaak, which doesn...

Re: Pre-Rendered Frames (scam!?)

This is demonstrating the user perceived impact of prerendered frames on the CPU right? The impact on input lag. I just re-ran this test myself. I've set low latency mode to "off" in NVCP for the game, then configured 8 prerendered frames in profile inspector. Lag is still increased a lot, but not ...
