For the esports, I was referring to the stretched resolutions. dude, you don't read posts thoroughly. You make a judgement before you finished the first sentence and all the rest just doesn't get absorbed.

What you quoted me on has nothing to do with input lag. Also, whatever lvt that allows quick frame transport will reduce the input lag when playing. It also helps to use a sync tech that allows you to move the tearline. Placement of the tearline also impacts input latency. There's older posts from t...

Re: are CRT monitors really better?
Off the top of my head: Perfect geometry (CRTs can have varying amounts of distortion.) Less power consumption. Sharper image (but only at native resolution.) They are lighter (CRTs feel like they weigh a ton.) Bigger screen size (good luck trying to find a CRT monitor that's larger than 21".) I st...

Also, Evelyn, they're typically playing in a stretched resolution along with inaccurate colors, because they care more about player visibility than any visual accuracy or aesthetics.

Re: Is the ViewSonic XG2431 without strobing still king for minimum input lag, response time, ghosting and motion blur?
The vast majority of people play E-Sport titles on max settings since turning down the settings does little to nothing whatsoever unless you turn it down so low it looks like a vomit inducing experience. It's also harder to see and make a headshot when playing 640x480, the dumb resolution of "Pros"...

Re: Flicker on 271QRX (not typical)
Can't find it in monitors settings? Are you sure? I was going by what the rtings review said, which is "Recommended Overdrive Setting: No Overdrive". I misunderstood that as a recommendation to disable overdrive. But apparently what it means is that this display has no overdrive. As far as I'm awar...

With any interpolation tech you're introduced to increased input latency and visual artifacts. Both are undesirable for a fighting game. What your issue might actually be is the v-sync many fighting games implement to cap frames. This in engine v-sync can be turned off on some games in their .ini. t...
