When I turn on PureXP, the response time setting is grayed out. Does this disable the response time setting completely or is it still working in the background with PureXP being enabled?

Acer monitor overclocking
I have the Acer Nitro XF273 S which has a stock refresh rate of 144hz and an overclock mode of 165hz. To enable this overclock mode I have to simply switch to 165hz through the Windows display settings, not through the monitor OSD. Is this really an overclock mode if I dont have to enable it through...
