It prevents VRR because there's judder when FPS does not match Hz. Also, it has duplicate frames. See "Update 2" in the first post of this thread about the borked 180Hz mode. If you apply the VT/pixel clock tweak to any other mode so that VRR flicker "goes away," you end up with the same problem ...

I also see noise when using 6-bit dither. It looks a little bit like film grain in very low luminance areas. OLED does this anyway but it becomes far more apparent with the dither.

Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely leaning towards my monitor not being able to handle riding so close to its lower limit. I can run 50hz fine without freesync, in WinUAE and Retroarch.

Freesync stutters when close to 50hz
I have an ASUS ProArt PA278QV which is supposed to support a Freesync range of 48~75Hz. I've noticed that the closer I get to 50fps the more stutters I'm seeing. Anywhere between 60-75fps is smooth but once I start dropping below 60 the stutters start appearing.
