Re: DLSS 3 and V-Sync

Should I also use an in-game cap 3 FPS below the NVCP/RTSS(with Reflex limiter) cap as described in the "best practices" post I linked above? As I mentioned above, this happens automatically by Reflex when using vsync (and it's gonna be more than just 3FPS.) Thanks for clarifying this. So, I suppos...

Re: DLSS 3 and V-Sync

So you run without any v-sync? Screen tearing can still occur below max refresh rate, so you have no screen-tearing mitigation? I do use vsync. As I said, I do the same thing as without DLSS 3. G-sync + vsync + cap. I'm also surprised to hear you say you operate as normal with screen caps while usi...

Re: DLSS 3 and V-Sync

So am I correct in understanding that the options are: A) screen tearing (no v-sync) B) extra 200ms or so latency (due to v-sync issue with DLSS 3) ?? Not sure what you mean. There is no vsync issue with DLSS 3. I use g-sync with an FPS cap below max refresh rate to prevent vsync lag. In other word...

Re: DLSS 3 and V-Sync

You'll want to also enable ultra low latency, though. It doesn't matter, because DLSS FG has Reflex as a hard requirement. So ULL doesn't have any effect. So am I correct in understanding that the options are: A) screen tearing (no v-sync) B) extra 200ms or so latency (due to v-sync issue with DLSS...

DLSS 3 and V-Sync

Is the consensus still to disable v-sync when running DLSS 3? I have seen a lot of contradictory discourse around this and am looking for the definitive blur busters (tm) verdict here.

PSA for Laptop Gamers Re Stutter

Hi all, I recently bought a 4070 equiped Lenovo Legion Go, and while I've been very impressed by the power this laptop brings to bear on modern games, I was haunted by incessant, regular stuttering in many games, manifesting as small stutters every second or two. My annoyance grew as I went through ...

Re: New Gaming PC Owner, G-Sync + V-Sync + Null Discourse is Making my Brain Bleed

... however, NULL only works with DX 9-11 titles, so NULL would need to be manually disabled and a frame cap implemented every time I plan to play a DX 12 game. That is was more hassle than I'd like to get into, so what are my optimal settings for my "set it and forget it" preference? Should I igno...

Consitent Stutter when GPU Bound (Pics) - Is This Normal?

Hi all, I've been pulling my hair out trying to get to the bottom of an issue which keeps rearing its ugly head: stuttering. Generally, I've found that I'm encountering consitent stuttering in certain games / scenarios, and specifically when GPU bound (100% utilization). Check out these crazy regula...

New Gaming PC Owner, G-Sync + V-Sync + Null Discourse is Making my Brain Bleed

Hi all, I have a L:egion Pro 5i RTX 4070 coming in the mail and I'm super excited. Coming from 2 decades as a strictly console player. As I wait for the package to arrive, I'm reading up on recommended system-level settings for optimal performance. One area where I'm having real difficulty finding a...
