Re: List of all IPS/VA gsync/freesync monitors
Don't get me wrong full persistence 200fps/Hz would probably look really good, but you would still need strobing to make it undetectable. I can see the difference between lightboost 100% and lightboost 10% @ 120Hz (100% being ever so slightly fuzzy), and we're talking about 1ms difference (2.4ms for...

Re: Why Aren't OLEDs monitors a thing yet?
Good point spacediver, but I think XeaLouS is wondering why he doesn't have a ROG Swift OLED 1000Hz ULMB display on his desk right now (as am I). Obviously there's no consumer level OLED stuff as far as desktop monitors go at this point, and if longevity is still a big issue, then I imagine that str...

Re: Black frame insertion software for non-ULMB monitors
You are inspiring me to try this myself, just for the sake of science (because I already use beautiful lightboost monitors). Have you checked Windows gfx section on MSDN? https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ff684175%28v=vs.85%29.aspx Messing around with some of the D2D stuff wou...

Re: Acer GN246HL - LIGHTBOOST - ENABLED? (HELP)
Chief has the ACER GN246HL listed as "ToastyX not supported" in the 120Hz monitor list http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/120hz-monitors/
Maybe you can try some of the other methods for enabling Lightboost? http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/

Re: Acer Predator XR341CK 34" 144Hz Curved Gaming Screen wit
Dang well hopefully I could drop it to 120Hz and use DP 1.2. I wouldn't use 144Hz anyway since there is no ULMB at that rate. Or if it's IPS might have to do 100Hz with ULMB.

Re: Acer Predator XR341CK 34" 144Hz Curved Gaming Screen wit
Can anyone confirm that 3440x1440 @ 144Hz won't work over DisplayPort 1.2? I did the math and it looks like 3440*1440*24bits*144fps equals roughly 17.1 Gbps whereas DP 1.2 has 17.28 Gbps of useable bandwidth. Is this too close to work? As a gamer/enthusiast and well as audio production professional,...

Re: Unable to install
Actually check this post sounds like it's impossible to unlock Lightboost with AMD cards as I originally thought.

Re: LightBoost and Monitor Scaling
If I set 1024x768 in NVIDIA CP I get the 4:3 black bars and I can still set my any of my strobed refresh rates. I don't have CS:GO but I launched HL2 and it was working great. I have the XL2420T as well. 120Hz w/ Lightboost is WAYYY better than 144Hz full persistence. If the extra 1.3ms you cut by r...

Re: Unable to install
Make sure you are running one of your strobed refresh rates you set at install. Sometimes my monitor starts up with a non-strobed refresh rate. Lightboost will be running whether or not strobelight.exe is running, but you can put a shortcut of strobelight.exe into your startup folder (%appdata%\Micr...

Re: Acer announces 144hz IPS 1440p G-SYNC! [XB270HU, XG270HU
Can't wait to see how the ULMB performs with the IPS pixel transition times. My current 1ms TN panels (XL2420T & VG248QE) show a lot of strobe crosstalk with Lightboost enabled as of now. If it's worse because of the 4ms times with IPS, I don't think I will be buying one of these.
