Ha that feels like a copy and paste of when you first started hammering the details of how to do this contest. Thanks for clarifying. I've always been curious about the nitty gritty details.

(A) Given enough GPU power, double buffered is smoother than triple buffered. (completely framedrop-free VSYNC ON)
(B) Given insufficient GPU power, triple buffered is smoother than double buffered.


Perfect straight lines in FCAT is only possible with double-buffered VSYNC ON + overkill GPU ...

After what happened with the swift you better hope there aren't supply constraints. This will be the first time I'm preordering hardware.

That's not the case with MMOs but they are an outlier.

I've tried both, and I would say it is noticeable, but less so than jumping from 60 to 96.


You mean you have played around with frequency but not this specific monitor?

TFTcentral actually did a review and it got high marks in a lot of areas but this part makes me think the op should reconsider ...

Honestly I don't see the inability to use ULMB at 120hz as not a big deal. What made me excited for ULMB over lightboost is that the barrier to getting near zero motion blur was lowered from 100fps minimum to 85 fps minimum.

With ULMB attained on an IPS panel the only thing that could be better now ...
