As far as I know, nobody actually measured input latency and got abnormally high results, so maybe the problem is with perception. You can try running Nvidia Frameview overlay and check if tearing indicator changes or fps or anything really that could help to explain this.

Wouldn't that be just visible as stutter or low fps? Just like an Olympics 100 meter sprint, two racers may finish almost simultaneously (1ms apart) and not know who won, until they see the electronic scoreboard.
