Interesting. This is the first time I've heard about G-Sync overclocking (beyond the factory-enabled stuff).

I have a 1440p 144Hz G-sync monitor. Are the 1080p monitors different somehow? I thought I tried overclocking it once before, but couldn't get it to budge at all.

The boards should work with any four channel 8-bit lvds panel. If the panel is only 2ch, it probably isn't interesting anyway. For 10bit stuff, you'll have to wait for the displayport version. All of them do. The XB270HU (the IPS monitor) has very low amounts at 85hz (better than the ROG Swift) but IPS monitors don't usually push overdrive levels as high as TN panels.
