Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV
So, I understand this to mean that if the monitor is set to ≥240 hz, but the frame rate drops to 120 fps, the Pulsar will ̶s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ work.
If you strike through the "still" part in your quote above, yes.
Pulsar is a variable refresh rate implementation. It functions within the same set of ...

Re: Recommended Monitor for Steam Machine
P.s. some practical advice for you personally. I really think you should wait for the ps6 to launch. That will set the value/price standard for the next decade . The closest hardware that will launch after it will be rtx 6xxx refresh in 2027. Or worst case rtx 7xxx and rdna 6 a year after ...

Re: Recommended Monitor for Steam Machine
I forgot to make clear I do not think buying an old laptop or even a 5060 laptop today is a good idea. I made those points specifically because I think they are bad choices for gaming even right now nevermind 6 years from now. Yet it is still better off.
A n rtx 5070 laptop is the same chip as a ...

Re: Recommended Monitor for Steam Machine
For anyone still wondering. You don't need to take my word for it. Just listen to gabe himself on their vision https://youtu.be/yeCuasjxsWk I think some of the stuff he says is wrong. Like monetization. The proliferation of Linux or SteamOS is a great thing for everryone long term. It could allow ...

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV
Article makes a mistake anr says 1000hz clarity but the marketing says 4x. So rounded up 1500hz.
I wonder if that means 120hz strobed gets limited to 4x too or... Guess we will know in 2 months

Re: Vint: Realtime Video Interpolation and CRT Emulation is now Available. What are your feature requests?
I can't quite wrap my head around how exactly pixel response time differences between panels and technologies influence motion clarity once beam-like refresh comes into play? Is pixel response time still important? I guess smearing is eliminated but color accuracy could suffer?
Also, do modern ...

Re: Recommended Monitor for Steam Machine
Hi all,
Valve are due to release their upcoming Steam Machine in Q1 2026, I plan to buy one for my son who will be turning 10, this will be his first PC and likely service him throughout his entire teenage years, a monitor is a big part of that experience and so I turn to this forum to help me ...

Re: Upgrade
Is the forum dead? :(
Why wait for the new pc to use linux. Start now.
Screen tearing won't matter with vrr + vsync. Infact it wont matter right now with fps caps below your 1% lows. Dont know that number? Just look at the average and turn on the cap near 30% worse than it. 50fps game (35fps ...
