Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO
I want to specify that I'm using it on a Vulkan application (Cemu emulator) without RTTS cap and no cap inside Cemu. Emulators have never been a good target for FPS capping, unfortunately. They need to time their frame presentation to match that of the machine they emulate. So this is probably what...

Re: Can excessive anti-aliasing cause any input lag?
I'm extremely sensitive to input lag (And exclusively play on 60hz displays to boot, making it much easier to tell )and also am crazy about Anti Aliasing and have tested just about every possible AA scenario under the sun and have never once felt an increase in input lag due to better Anti Aliasing....

Re: Acer ? = 3840x2160 TN @ 75hz
60hz flicker is not a problem when you are used to it. Shit, when you are used to and can deal with 480i flicker, everything else is a piece of cake. It's like flyback 15khz whine with just about every CRT. You get used to it. I use a CRT regularly for old consoles and aside from my consumer set havi...

Re: Does non-native Hz effect image quality?
If you use scaling to just use resolution with empty space rather than scaling it back up to the native then IQ should be fine

Re: V-Sync: Driver or Game?
I did some more testing, though I don't know how relevant the results will be to modern games. I loaded up Max Payne 2, which uses DirectX 8, because it easily runs at hundreds of FPS and if you set it to a maximum of 8 pre-rendered frames it's the laggiest thing in the world. If I enable an RTSS f...

Re: V-Sync: Driver or Game?
Driver vs game doesn't matter for v-sync, but it does matter for framerate caps. In game framerate caps are always going to be better than a driver based cap, because if the game engine is waiting on the driver, that's unnecessary latency being added. If you use v-sync without a framrate cap, and y...

Re: V-Sync: Driver or Game?
Update: I spoke with Unwinder about modifying Afterburner's to allow sub 100ms polling for more accurate monitoring without interference. (Also: RTSS is technically the hardware monitoring part, which is what you need to monitor anything with AB such as framerate or use the OSD. So using FRAPS on to...

Re: V-Sync: Driver or Game?
I can't agree with that in all of my own testing. 9/10 times i've never had a single issue with frame pacing after doing what I mentioned. And performance has always been better than without. I've tried my own tests with using vsync+frame limiter and almost always without it performance is worse. Mi...

Re: V-Sync: Driver or Game?
I don't think the differences would be huge in terms of latency (For example, frame pacing in a competitive game wouldn't be as important as low latency. Vsync would give you latency increases either way short of Gsync) But the rule of the thumb for me in all of my experiences is that most games bui...
