Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

@jimcarry
sure, use it with 100/100, but short of getting paid to play games, you're only wasting power and run the cpu hotter.

i would rather see that you switch to a synced screen (doesnt matter if Nv/AMD or VRR), this also helps/allows to use certain low/latency enhancements.
a couple ppl in my ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

@lolokaa
do or dont, fine with me.
i have no info as it was likely a response by amd staff in forum related to ryzen setup guide/issue, and i wont waste my time search adn find it again, just to proof anything to you.

and anyone that cared to read a ryzen guide in the past couple of years knows ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

No, as i dont care to keep "'anything" once i have confirmed things to be valid (like mfg info or community feedback).

never said they are necessary, system will run fine, this is to optimize win for ryzen use.
works fine on the last 20 rigs i build for customers (500-3K), on any ryzen setup i ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

@lolokaa
having issues using 99/100% means you have problems with that system, not with the fact your using those settings.

ignoring your advising against something you have doubtly tested on +2000 system, so statistically speaking, zero way for you to confirm anything.

besides, this is official ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

C-State doesnt have to be disabled, its a "fix" and as long as you dont have usb/bsod/win errors issues, you can leave it on.

for proper power plan adjustment go to control panel, use the one listed as amd, if there isnt one use balanced,
go to change adv power settings, scroll to proc power mng ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

Its based on how the internals work on ryzen, and amd recommending to let the chip deal with things (clock), not windows.

high/ultra perf with 100% for min cpu perf are useless short of troubleshooting, so for most users the minimum would be 0 or 50% depending on power profile used, setting it to ...

Re: Most 1440p monitors are slow...

@Doogydog
almost all screens now offer some form of sync feature (G-/Free-/VRR), so i wouldnt worry about anything above 240 Hz, unless you get payed to play.
one of the only online shooter i play is siege, and i have no real backdraw from playing @60 with Gsync/VRR enabled,
vs my friend(s) playing ...

Re: Should i leave Global C-States Disabled by default?

While being a bit older thread, i came across it and others might too, so some "corrections".
those that arent using/building ryzen systems: stop recommending things based on intel, it usually doesnt go well.

for any ryzen cpu, C states enabled is one of the causes for usb/IO problems as well as ...
