Re: Glasses to emulate backlight strobing exist?

Yes, but very tricky to do good quality, as not all pixels refresh at the same time, plus GtG bleed between refresh cycles. Related thread: https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=5837 This is probably a dumb question, but could strobing (sort of) be accomplished through the use of active shu...

What happened? I swear it was 92 votes earlier now its down to 59. Possibly they caught some overexcited individual violated RTINGS TOS by voting under multiple accounts — (Nope, it wasn’t us. We’re not even lifting a finger here — Blur Busters fans are just so excited to see this happen). While I ...

I experience the same thing. It is worse in full screen mode for me as well.
Indialen:
Let me guess: You have a VA-panel monitor, or a curved monitor? They’re kind of so-so with Diablo II due to slow pixel response for the dark colors of Diablo II’s dungeon scenes.

Re: Is motion blur directly related to strobe visibility or not?

Simply, I had an understanding that if we had a screen with a frequency of 1 kHz, we would get the same effect as on displays made on CRT technology, namely, the absence of the sampling and holding effect (it still seems to me that the shows that I watched on an old 21 inches lg looked perfectly sm...

Re: 300hz as a Target/Standarized Refresh Rate

How do I post external links? Forum members need to have at least between 3 to 5+ posts (threshold varies) minimum to get full posting priveleges (immediate post, skip moderator queue, post links, post video embeds). This is due to the spam filter system here... For now, if it rejects your links, j...

Re: Does matching polling rate to monitor Hz make sense or no?

Theoretically Possible: Custom Frame Rate Capping Software That Syncs To Poll Rate If you are a software developer, there is a solution Now, there are potential workarounds, like writing a custom frame-rate capper that uses a mousehook ( LowLevelMouseProc callback and the WH_MOUSE_LL event). Basica...

Yes, that is impressive. Now 22 votes in less than 24 hours. The RTINGS-suggest-monitor page now is 39 votes. Lots of fans of Blur Busters, obviously. We could ask them to do some extra pursuits. I believe they would do it since its specifically tuned for bfi and that sets it apart from others. We ...

Re: [Blur Busters Approved XG2431 - 24" 240Hz IPS] ViewSonic unveils monitors for 2021 (The new 240Hz 24" king?)

They won't know how to test it they way it's intended to be used. this monitor essentially needs custom resolutions with large VT's for it's strobed modes to function adequately. The good news is you don’t need Strobe Utility or Large VTs. XG2431 has vastly better 240Hz strobing out-of-box than XG2...

Re: Is motion blur directly related to strobe visibility or not?

Finally, it dawned on me that if I understood correctly, a 7680x4320 display at 960 Hz will give the same level of blur as 1920 x 1080 at 240. From a pixels-of-blur, yes . From a physical-inches-of-blur, no . Confused? Here’s an explanation Hz will determine physical distance of blur on a sample-an...
