Re: Samsung QD OLED

Included hypothetical Total Blur curve for Fast-IPS with BFI. Threshold of noticeable blurring/smearing occurring at much higher pixel speeds.

Re: Samsung QD OLED

To illustrate how I think the difference in severity of blur/smear from ghosting and pixel persistence vs. pixel motion speed causes the 175hz QD-OLED (and any other comparably high refresh rate OLED panel) to look strobe-like under high framerate gameplay. https://i.ibb.co/891Z9vV/OLED-vs-IPS-blur....

Re: Samsung QD OLED

I reread my reply from earlier today and realised it was poorly worded. Here’s the correction: Thanks for your detailed answer. So if I understand correctly, you would still place the AW3423DW slightly behind the best fast-IPS monitors in the motion handling (clarity, smoothness) department. Yes, in...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Also, fyi, if you use PixPerAn readability test, you've got to make sure it's at the same refresh rate when comparing monitors because the speed of the text is dependent on the refresh rate. Took me a while to realise this when i first used it way back. So if you go from 120hz to 240hz, for the same...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

On the pixperan (at same 175hz) I was able to pass up to level 7 speed on Asus with non BFI and up to level 8 on Alienware. Asus BFI, I could just about successfully pass the test up to level 17 but if the screen were as long as the Alienware, I think I could do 18. The clarity is CRT clear of cours...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Thanks for your detailed answer. So if I understand correctly, you would still place the AW3423DW slightly behind the best fast-IPS monitors in the motion handling (clarity, smoothness) department. Yes, in practice, I find it only slightly behind one of (if not the) best 240hz fast-IPS BFI capable ...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Damn, that thing sounds awesome. Let's see how long I can resist. Thanks for the feedback. Most welcome. ;) at red bull f1 factory on Friday. Not sure how I missed that statement the first time. But if that is your job, that is awesome. Watch out for Ferrari! And send a Verstappen & Pérez autograph...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

DrR1pper, do you think I would still be an awe if my main concern was competitive shooters (such as csgo)? I mean, I've got the Acer xv252qf 390Hz/BFI right now, would the AW3423DW be an upgrade regarding motion handling? (smoothness, clarity) I've not tried that monitor before so I can't be certai...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Man I have been trying to hold off but you are really selling me on this thing. Last year I bought the Acer XB273U GX after only ever using TN panels, and while the monitor is mostly great, I learned quickly that IPS glow is a gigantic downside. Games with a lot of dark scenes (Escape from Tarkov) ...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Knowing that it’s all subjective, how else do you find the xg27aqm and Alienware to “feel” different from one another? Does the asus feel better to you at any particular thing (e.g. input lag/responsiveness)? Nope, lol. Nothing feels better about the Asus than the Alienware. The Alienware feels sup...
