Re: New 1080p 240hz IPS monitors. LG 27gn750, MSI MAG251rx, Asus TUF vg279qm/vg259qm.

I'm finishing up my review of the VG279QM right now, and here's a quick spoiler: the response times are fantastic. I like everything about this monitor except for the strobing modes and ELMB-Sync, which are huge messes. If strobing doesn't matter to you, I think you'll be impressed when you get your...

Re: Ghosting masked by motion blur?

Nice review! Very good camera work. That's something people don't normally mention, but I appreciate it. Do you mind if I ask what Sony camera/lens you're using? When I searched for the Acer VG270UP, I couldn't figure out exactly which monitor you were talking about, so I went back and watched your ...

Re: "ultra" setting in low latency mode. question.

Hah. I didn't notice that Battle(non)sense wasn't using variable refresh. Why isn't he using VRR? :) Well, this had me curious enough to pull out the light probe again. You're right about the V-Sync off measurements, which complicates things a bit for me. Since I'm using a light probe at the top of ...

Re: "ultra" setting in low latency mode. question.

cluelessgamer, carrying on our conversation from YouTube, you've asked a great question. I didn't catch this in Battle(non)sense's original video, but I think you were referring to this: https://youtu.be/7CKnJ5ujL_Q?t=458 On the NVIDIA side, he did find that turning ULLM OFF with the 60 FPS cap redu...

Re: Video Feature on Input Lag and Frame Rate Limiters

Jorim, oops! I'll get your name right next time! You're right about CS:GO's internal limit. When I was running the tests, I had RTSS's overlay disabled so it wouldn't affect the results, but CS:GO's cl_showfps HUD overlay updates way too fast to be human readable, so I just naively assumed it was ca...

Video Feature on Input Lag and Frame Rate Limiters

Inspired by jorimt's work that led to the BlurBusters G-SYNC 101 article, I wanted to use my micro-controller and light probe to test input lag in a few "games" for pure V-Sync, various internal and external frame rate limiters, and using RTSS's Scanline Sync. I also wanted to verify BattleNonsense'...

Re: ELMB-Sync experiences?

Were they showing both the VG259QM and VG279QM? ASUS also seems to be refreshing the VG27AQ as the VG27AQL1A, although I'm skeptical that ELMB-Sync will be dramatically improved on that one. TFTCentral got a sample of the VG279QM on Feb. 6, and he was the first to mention the problems with ELMB-Sync...

Re: ELMB-Sync experiences?

Avean, ELMB-Sync is functionally useless. ASUS did manage to achieve simultaneous backlight strobing and variable refresh, but they did so in a way that doesn't benefit motion clarity. In fact, I think it's worse than not strobing at all. I measured the backlight of the VG27AQ during ELMB-Sync in 10...

Re: MSI MAG271CQR - brief red ghosting when looking around screen while MBR is on

It looks like all of MSI's Optix line is advertised as having 115% sRGB coverage, so while not HDR, they do have the extended gamut. You're right about people potentially being off-put by this. Most sites that review monitors don't seem to spend much time on backlight strobing. LG, Samsung, AUO, etc...

Acer KG271U Review (27" QHD 144 Hz TN)

https://youtu.be/DZLoyqhmwHA with charts here: https://www.aperturegrille.com/reviews/AcerKG271U/ Even at $250, this monitor really has nothing to offer, and I'm especially disappointed because it lacks a strobing mode, but you folks here on BlurBusters might enjoy this kind of detailed and nerdy lo...
