Re: G-Sync and Cloned Displays

Maybe for gsync sli it would be worth to try something else than afr again. It scales less well, but maybe a 1.5 factor without sli lag and microstutter would be visually superior to 2x with drawbacks. The pixel shader part at least could maybe be split without too much effort, the rest is another s...

Re: How to show a pic for exactly 12.5ms?

Seems like research on subliminal images. Right now the best solution I think of is a gsync display with a custom written program, if the timing has to be exact. That should give you 7 to 33ms in about 1ms steps then 40 to maybe 66 etc. Maybe I might write it. However gsync is out of stock right now...

Re: GPU scaling and input lag?

A modern gpu can do a bilinear blit unbelievabling fast, no number right now but I believe it is orders of magnitudes less than 1ms, and if done properly it would only affect latency not frame throughput. Someone thinking it would add time due to proceesing power has no idea of the amount of computa...

Re: DIY Backlight Strobing [must read for experimenters!]

While I'm at it, I think the line aliasing test isn't correct from a rendering standpoint, it's not symmetrical, the moving sampling artifacts are not the same at all on the left and on the right as it moves.
I'm interested in line drawing and subpixels, that's why I tell.

Mechanical shutters for motion blur reduction & stereo 3D

Or if you got time to waste the movements could be circles :) but then the exact pixel count per frame is not as clearly defined since there's a variable 2D vector associated with each frame. I especially think about the eye-tracking motion blur, you got only a fraction of second to resynchronize on...

Mechanical shutters for motion blur reduction & stereo 3D

abour the ufo tests, while I think of it, the other day I thought it might be better in some cases to have an option to make all translation tests bounce on left/right edges rather than start again at the left edge, from the point of view of eye-tracking ease. Either a hard bounce (velocity = 0 - ve...

Re: ROLL CALL: Who uses LightBoost=10%?

Hi. I'm a recent owner of VG248QE, which I just bought to give it a try for a g-sync giveaway associated with a hardware news site in my country. My opinion will not be a very enlightened one because I just got it, but I did try lightboost via ToastyX's Strobelight and have set it to several values,...

Re: DIY Backlight Strobing [must read for experimenters!]

Hi, when I did this I was not the hardware expert guy so I can't provide experience or details :) but it was vga and the vbl signal was a clean short spike! I did not adjust offscreen pixels for that precise test. I am in a different physical place now so I don't do things now. Good luck :)

Thanks for your attention.
While I have it, may I ask where that funny alien of yours come from? Always makes me smile. It might go down in history :)
