Re: Render scale and frame buffers question
It adds the same delay as other graphics options that affect performance. Less FPS = increased frame time. 50FPS has more input lag than 100 FPS. So you need to leave ALL options alone and set everything to minimum, because EVERY option that lowers FPS adds delay. Thanks, that's all I wanted to kno...

Re: Render scale and frame buffers question
So regarding render scale, the question being whether the option adds any delay at all, and you think it adds at least a little. To be honest that's enough to make me leave it alone. About the buffering then, do you think it would make the input lag the same regardless of whether the framerate was d...

Render scale and frame buffers question
The game I'm referring to is Overwatch, but I think some of the concepts can be applied to other games and engines. Overwatch is a game which suffers from input lag due to frame buffering(?). I think it might be something similar to the onethreadframelag option being enabled in UE3 games. From my un...

Re: Overclocking monitor side effects?
Fair enough, no way to know, eh? I don't have the equipment so I'll just stick with the defaults.
Thanks for the input

Overclocking monitor side effects?
I've slightly overclocked my monitor using ToastyX's CRU. The frame skipping check showed up fine on my phone's camera, but I wonder if that's the end of the story. Could there be additional input lag? Could there be hitches or stutter of some kind? Could it change backlight behaviour possibly? Does...

Re: Unreal Engine 4 post-processing
So you think there's no additional lag caused by post-processing at a capped framerate? I'd like to believe that. It sounds to me like you're saying that PP doesn't cause inherent lag, but that it causes lag in much the same way as any other part of a rendered scene - by lowering fps. Is that what y...

Unreal Engine 4 post-processing
I think I understand that post-processing such as HBAO, bloom, DOF, motion blur, lens flare, etc. cause input lag, even if you're reaching a capped fps. I've got some questions about PP lag, specifically in Unreal Engine 4. 1. Does input lag differ between different GPU speeds? Say you have a GTX 67...
