Re: Input lag at different set refresh rate with VRR
Yeah, not US. Availability of this class of monitors has been spotty across Europe. And the value statement was more in absolute terms - it's not terrible for what it is, but it's lot of money to pay for a luxury item.

Re: Input lag at different set refresh rate with VRR
Not the answer I was hoping for but thank you for the detailed response nonetheless. I wanted 240Hz on that 300Hz monitor because: 1. You can manually toggle DSC off, limiting the fresh rate to 240Hz. Figured I may as well disable it since I'm not going to be hitting 300fps anyway. 2. More video con...

Input lag at different set refresh rate with VRR
Some monitors have higher processing lag at non-native refresh rates. I've seen here that VRR reduces this processing lag to minimum. What about a case where I manually set a non-native refresh rate, but the monitor is working in Gsync or Freesync mode? To give an example with made up figures, XG27A...

Re: WDDM 2.7 Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling
Guys i created an account just to post here.It does exactly the opposite of what it promises.I tested with CS GO and it felt almost like i enabled vsync.so much more input lag I wanted to up the in game sensitivity. When I turned it off all fine again. My guess is that there is some type of conflict ...

WDDM 2.7 Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling
Windows build 2004 brings WDDM 2.7 and Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling to compatible graphics cards. At the moment none of the vendors have released official software support, but Nvidia has released a developer driver with support for this feature. It's speculated that it reduces input lag when...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
Firstly, I think the main thing was that it would guarantee that you wouldn't ever go over the vsync limit even if you were off by a few frames. Also what you're saying is true, and I can appreciate 2-3 fps is probably undetectable. But.. if the option is there to do it for free, then why not I supp...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
I'm not generally interested in overclocking because it's been shown to cause slow response times at the non-native (overclocked) refresh rates. But I figured it could be useful for Gsync just to overclock a little bit and then cap framerate at 144 (so your monitor is actually at its best refresh ra...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
Thanks for doing these tests :) I just got a PG279Q "overclockable" monitor. Generally you don't want to play with that, but in light of these tests, I think conceptually it sounds like a good idea to overclock the monitor to about 150hz just to avoid even the remote possibility of vsync activating ...

Re: Render scale and frame buffers question
Ok thanks. Your answer was really helpful but to be honest I still have a lot of questions, so will probably go and read up more on it later.

Re: Render scale and frame buffers question
Huh wow. Firstly, thanks very much for the lesson. Secondly, I think based on a Youtube video called, "Overwatch Input Lag (Button 2 Pixel) Analysis - PC vs. Console", OW probably implements a low latency framerate capper, since the difference in lag between uncapped (300fps) and capped (154fps) was...
