Just tossing around the idea to jump into 4K now that they are shipping with HDMI 2.0.
Is there an easy method to assess whether a panel can offer true 120Hz @ 1080p? (vs the marketing hype)
I'm just eyeing the LG 55UB8500 right now....

Re: SEIKI 4K 39" HDTV now capable of true 120Hz 1920x1080
They disappeared after a reboot of the TV. I tried to reproduce the effect afterwards without luck though. In the end I decided that given the state of the package in which it arrived and the aforementioned artifacts I decided to just send it back today.

Initially it was in fact frameskipping as I did not upgrade the firmware. However even after the upgrade UFO is still not reporting properly for me.
I shut off multimonitors in the nvidia control panel and have only the 4K active. Aero is in use.
I'll do up a video tonight to demonstrate.

Re: SEIKI 4K 39" HDTV now capable of true 120Hz 1920x1080
Got mine today but I left the firmware as is. I created a custom resolution in then vid is control panel for 1080p at 120Hz but none of the UFO tests acknowledged 120 -they all still said 60. The downloaded multitool though showed 120FPS via Afterburner though.

Re: Why can't some monitors do lightboost?
Is it specific to monitors or will something like a 3D capable Plasma TV be able to do the same?

Re: Overclocked Dell U3011 to 90Hz at 1080p
The photo test says 90/90 and valid however if I let it run for a minute or so a tear will appear on the picture and move from top to bottom. What would this be indicative of?
I assume there is no impact to having a second monitor running while performing this test?

Re: Overclocked Dell U3011 to 90Hz at 1080p
- Slow LCD response increases ghosting/blur during motion, that obscures benefits of higher refresh rate
- Frame rates far lower than refresh rate will not show noticeable improvement.
- Lack of 1000hz gaming mouse will add mouse micro stutter that obscures benefits of higher refresh rate ...

Re: Overclocked Dell U3011 to 90Hz at 1080p
I used both the frameskipping and framerate tests along with the RefreshRateMultitool.
I was getting 90FPS as observed by MSIAfterburning monitoring tool
