Re: Dough's upcoming OLED monitor will be the first to support 240Hz BFI
Also, these are a total scam. Do not give this company your money. https://www.theverge.com/23872874/dough-eve-spectrum-monitor-refunds-v-tablet-follow-up The owners have a long history of over promising, delivering only to SOME paying customers, and then using every tactic in the book to avoid givi...

Re: Software BFI options?
This would mostly benefit OLED, but could be somewhat beneficial to high Hz LCDs as well. Any thoughts on this? It just popped into my head after thinking about how insanely complex (and almost unbelievably fast) the current post processing techniques are. To me, this seems a lot less complicated t...

Re: Software BFI options?
Or a phase-swap black frame (like the "LCD Saver" option of the upcoming Retrotink 4K). TestUFO Flicker Test uses this (www.testufo.com/flicker) to prevent image retention as well. DesktopBFI doesn't do this yet, so someone needs to change the source code to add more BFI flexibility, including 240H...

Re: Software BFI options?
You can use DesktopBFI in Administrator Mode and run it in REALTIME mode for Windows applications. There will need to be better options, such as a windows indirect display driver. I just tried DesktopBFI on my new LG 240Hz 1440P IPS monitor and it definitely works, but I get crazy image retention, ...

Re: Any no-compromises upgrade from BenQ XL2720Z in 2023?
Okay. Just want to start off by saying, this is NOT a no-compromises upgrade from an XL2720Z. This is me deciding to try something different after getting used to a certain set of features for a long time. That said, I think I have found the display to hold me over until 240Hz+ OLED with BFI and VRR...

Re: Would "Dim" frames provide a similar blur-reducing benefit to "black" frames?
I would be interested to see a software\driver implementation of dim frame insertion so that it takes every other frame and applies a user customizable filter to it to darken it and lower contrast. It seems like the technology to do this should exist, and it is just a matter of someone programming ...

Re: Gigabyte M27Q-X Rev. 2.0 Coming in October - 240Hz, 1440P, RGB... hopefully not KSF?
I am a big fan of strobing, simply because my main experience with it is with one of the best strobing implementations ever made (XL2720Z). Also, I am very familiar with strobe crosstalk. I have used the Blur Busters Strobe Utility since I bought my monitor 7+ years ago, and I even did the large ve...

Oh my bad, sorry ! But I'm sure it will be similar... anyway, I can't provide more information about the Asus because is still 100% a waste of time and bad. You seem to want strobing at all costs, I invite you to go find out about Crosstalk , your Zowie is one of the only ones to have good strobing...

Re: Would "Dim" frames provide a similar blur-reducing benefit to "black" frames?
Dim frames actually help reduce blur a bit, but not as much. It's tantamount to simulating phosphor decay. I'm working on CRT electron beam simulators, which do something similar. It's a tradeoff; less flicker but also less blur reduction. I may get Retrotink 4K to add "dim frame" injection. We sha...
