Re: What is causing stutter with a VRR screen below 60fps

So you feel exactly the same as me. And you have no explanation for this behavior. I have an explanation, it's just not a satisfying one; 59 FPS/Hz isn't 60 FPS/Hz. There are thresholds where perceived fluidity changes based on the frame/refresh rate, and some players are more sensitive to this tha...

Re: What is causing stutter with a VRR screen below 60fps

In fact, it's not really stuttering It'smore it feel like, everthing is smooth at 60fps and above and immediatly at 59fps it feel laggy. I mean, you don't notice a difference between 62 and 65fps, but here I clearly notice everytime I hit 59fps In my experience, there is a subtle, but notable drop ...

There is no DSC toggle in the menu. Is it always running DSC, even in 8bit?
There's no info I can find on DSC functionality for the XG27AQM, and I don't own it, so can't test.

So no custom resolutions with CRU to maximise bandwith without DSC?

Re: G-Sync + NULL

Did you have time to thoroughly test Low Latency Mode for DX12. On my side games work without a hitch, always 138 cap when set to Ultra. Hoping that same would be done for Vulkan since Ultra Low Latency feels more natural to use with G - Sync for me... Not as of yet, but I'm not going to test anyth...

People say that NULL at the same time as Reflex can be worse than just one enabled, but I found an immediate improvement with both enabled, compared to only Reflex.
Unless you're experiencing a glitch, Reflex overrides LLM, as it's considered its replacement.

Re: Monitor OSD odd behaviour

Thank you. So even if my monitor is displaying a current refresh rate of 110-120hz, and my fps is 117hz, I should not trust the monitor, and providing I am not seeing any tearing, the monitor is doing what it should (117 cycles per second) Again, those monitor meters are basically toys. In order of...

Re: Monitor OSD odd behaviour

Thanks, any comment on my second question? With VRR, the duration of each scanout cycle is determined by the current max refresh rate (8.3ms at 120Hz), while VRR itself controls how many times that scanout process repeats per second based on the current framerate. I.E. 117 FPS 120Hz VRR = scanout c...

Re: Monitor OSD odd behaviour

1. Is this behaviour expected/normal? Yes, it's "normal." Those monitor-side refresh rate meters, especially on G-SYNC Compatible FreeSync displays, can't be relied on for accuracy; as long as said meters are fluctuating (meaning VRR is engaged), you should rely on system-side readouts for monitori...

I said "lowest possible latency," not "highest possible consistency." And you don't have to use Reflex to prevent max GPU usage, you can use a manual FPS limit instead.
