Re: G-Sync Monitors and Limited Range RGB 16-235 on NVIDIA G

Most of the Sonic games available on PC have the game's speed dictated by the refresh rate you are running at. Sonic Adventure 2 or Sonic CD for instance will run at normal 1x speed at 60hz (60 FPS). Running at 120hz makes the game run at 2x speed (120 FPS). The speed increase is linear with the ref...

Re: G-Sync Monitors and Limited Range RGB 16-235 on NVIDIA G

Actually you are correct, but using anything that isn't explicitly 60 hz will override this problem. Just being in G-Sync mode should prevent this from happening since it's variable refresh rate. I was confused because there are games that run at 60 hz but are still in full 144 hz G-Sync mode (Diabl...

Re: G-Sync Monitors and Limited Range RGB 16-235 on NVIDIA G

Wait, that link says that if your resolution is listed under "PC" then in the Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Change Resolution then you are getting a full signal. That's where mine is listed. Check there to see if you are affected. It seems like this problem would specifically affect displays runn...

Re: G-SYNC and Dolphin (gamecube/wii emulator)

The emulator keeps focusing on accuracy, so it's actually more demanding on your cpu these days.

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration

The thing is that something has to be a "standard" to be a standard. As far as I am aware in the PC realm the only real standards are D65 at 2.2 gamma for PC and D65 at 1.8 gamma for apple computers. The 1.8 gamma is preferred for publishing because the images look a specific way when printed on pap...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration

Yeah, I use HCFR. I've always wanted to try some of the other software, but as I'm only doing it for my own displays I never could convince myself to spend the money when HCFR gets the job done.

Re: Benq Low Blue Light DIY?

Seems like this would throw your color temperature right out the window. As you reduce blue the color of white on display would shift yellow. As the back light is still performing normally in other modes, this would indicate that all the display is doing is manipulating the contrast and gamma ratios...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration

As someone pointed out before using 6500K or 9300k is meaningless. 6500K is actually a small range of colors. D65 is the standard which is specifically x=0.31271, y=0.32902. You can get an exact 6504K color temperature and still have it not be D65. Much like all thumbs are fingers, but not all finge...

G-SYNC and Dolphin (gamecube/wii emulator)

If anyone was trying to get g-sync working with dolphin, I figured out how to engage it. It only works with the OpenGL back end. You have to make sure the "Use Fullscreen" and "Keep window on top" boxes are checked. The only issue is that dolphin will not gracefully exit emulation when you are done....
