What role does sync polarity play for resolutions?
Specifically, I have an Acer PG278QR monitor and I noticed that I was getting major stuttering (according to testufo's animation graph) at 165Hz, while much less at 144Hz, and none at 120. I viewed the resolutions through CRU and noticed that 24 - 120Hz resolutions were (+ / - ) and 144 - 165Hz were...

Re: Motion blur fortnite asus rog swift pg258q
TL;DR: You said your motion blur suddenly appears/disappears mysteriously. The "sudden appearance" of motion blur is sometimes simply a framerate-halving or framerate-quartering problem caused by a multimonitor setup. This is not always the cause, but unfortunately common. There are other causes (w...

Re: Is this level of banding acceptable for pg278qr ?
While I agree that the colors are horrible at stock settings, they really are drastically better once you've got a custom color profile calibrated. I attached the calibration I did on my own monitor if you'd like some sort of reference. I used the FPS Mode monitor profile as stock with the following...

Re: Is this level of banding acceptable for pg278qr ?
The first photo looks a texture issue. Maybe streaming? The visibly-segmented gradient, though, it looks almost identical to my pg278qr sorry to say. I think you may be falling into the same trap I did as someone who does a lot of video / image editing but also enjoys playing competitively on their ...

Re: Looking for some clarity on large vertical totals
Namely, is there any benefit to having / forcing them when you aren't using a form of motion blur reduction? More "power"? I don't know what that means :-P Do you mean power consumption? Why would that be a benefit? Y'know, like maximum power / performance, or at least the assumption deduced from (...

Re: Motion blur fortnite asus rog swift pg258q
The laggy feeling could be any number of things, from wildly fluctuating fps to fatigue. You ever stare into a strobe-light and found yourself feeling nauseous for a second? Since MBR — as far as I've come to understand it — essentially turns your monitor back-light into a strobe-light, except very f...

Namely, is there any benefit to having / forcing them when you aren't using a form of motion blur reduction? For example: my main monitor is an Acer ROG PG278QR Default CRU Settings https://i.imgur.com/BofxB3a.png Largest Supported * VT https://i.imgur.com/3GN7LMw.png * at least according to my own ...

Re: Overwatch Reduce Buffering Bug
I became aware of this issue through this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchUniversity/comments/741wy2/why_does_really_good_hitscan_players_reset_their/ Some useful info: Cause alt-tabbing with reduced buffering bugs you game and makes it GPU bounded and other shit. Actually, if you hav...

Re: BenQ XL2411Z Colour Settings
I know this is a fairly old thread but here's a color calibration I did using a Colormunki Smile with DisplayCAL software:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/jj484z
Monitor settings:
Brightness 100
Contrast 49
Gamma 5
Color temp (User Mode)
R 95, G 95, B 93

Re: Need some advice on what I should do
Before this, I had it on strobelight-120 with FPS uncapped. Though the FPS varied drastically, I didn't feel any stutter. But something was off. That something was clarity... it was blurry. Switching to above settings removed that blurriness and my aim improved instantly because I could focus on ob...
