Re: Scanline sync is AMAZING !
Hello just wanted to make some comments about this using ULMB with 100 and 120hz, at 1440p. It works pretty well, I just set the scanline to 1400-1440 (doesn't matter) and I see zero tearing with ULMB on, vsync off. I guess this is the best method to do now instead of the old RTSS -.01 framerate lim...

Re: Nvidia GPU GTX 20XX Series likely revealed @ Gamescom 20
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK7lL3E2LVc&t=3m12s (Video about dev's showing ray tracing in Metro Exodus, BFV etc) If only HDR FALD came out 3 years earlier so we could get lower prices, ray tracing would make dark environments look spectacular, like in the timestamp above. People that have high c...

Re: Nvidia GPU GTX 20XX Series likely revealed @ Gamescom 20
So there is a graph Nvidia presented showing the performance increase of the 2080 vs the 1080. The graph pretty much shows that of the 6 or so games benchmarked, 2080 has at least 1.2x more performance, and in 90% of cases 1.3x performance, and in some cases 1.5x performance. The catch here though i...

Nvidia GPU GTX 20XX Series likely revealed @ Gamescom 20th
There have been a few hints from Nvidia (not explicit but implicit) about the new Turing series to be debuted at Gamescom on August the 20th. Hardware within the GPU designed for Ray Tracing is going to be one of the key points. This thread can be for discussing things related to the 20XX series. I ...

Re: Discuss the upcoming generation (August+) 2018 monitors
That's what I'm hoping for also. That ULMB can be used at 240hz. I would also assume lower G2G's would help higher resolutions cope with higher framerates too, such as introducing 240hz to 1440p.

Re: Linus Shows Off New 4k 144hz Panel/Monitor
And just like that 1.4 million people have already seen the demonstration of THE only working 144hz 4k gsync ips HDR monitor, before myself, who checks this stuff every day. :x It does look very nice, I'm happy to hear that the 384 local dimming works so nicely that its barely noticeable to see the ...

Re: Attempting to understand modern TN's vs IPS
You are right, IPS has better contrast ratios. I said similar earlier, but IPS really has usually 30-50% more contrast ratio, like you said. TN's usually 800-1000 and IPS 1000-1300. Right too on the angle shift remarks. I do miss the easy days of CRT's having most things great. Random thought #2, TN...
