Old Asus VE248h (on occasion, rarely) Black-Screening
It happens maybe once or twice a day, usually an hour or so once I turn it on. The display goes black for a second and then comes back. It's connected via DVI/Adapter ---> HDMI Cable ----> HDMI/Monitor I am aware that some monitors like some old Samsungs had problems with caps etc...just wondering w...

A curious observation (contrast, RGB gain) on my ASUS
I have an old(er) Asus VE248h where I just made a curious observation. In the OSD (or with 3rd party tools using DDC/CI commands to control the monitor), you have levels for R, B, G (gain), ranging from 0-100, right. However, these 100 levels for setting RGB gain are not actually applied, but in rea...

Re: WTF? My old VE248H has a 120hz/144hz panel?!
Disregard this entire thread...I need my eyes checked!
I am just seeing in the service menu that this one doesn't have the V8 version of this panel, but the VD version which is a 60hz panel.
I can lay my fantasies of "converting" the monitor to a rest

Re: WTF? My old VE248H has a 120hz/144hz panel?!
Yeah it's obvious just from looking at the boards/connectors, the 120hz+ monitors all have this double LVDS connector. So even if it was (somehow) possible to override/hack a firmware lock, it would not work using the current board, I am pretty certain of that. However, it is intriguing and was quit...

Re: WTF? My old VE248H has a 120hz/144hz panel?!
I think here on the forum I have the best chances to get an answer to that: So, we know that the *panel* itself is the same as in most 120hz/144hz monitors, Benq, Asus VG248QE etc. Check. Now out of curiosity, here the idea of getting a board of some 144hz monitor and putting the board in. Question:...

Re: BenQ XL2411 Can't Run Anything Above 1080p 60hz
This is absolutely odd since (stating the obvious), this monitor should do 75 and beyond (120, 144 etc.).... and 75 with the HDMI. There is something wrong with the monitor since having a shoddy DVI cable AND a shoddy HDMI cable is highly unlikely. * What you can test (and I a can just help you up u...

Re: WTF? My old VE248H has a 120hz/144hz panel?!
Holy crap, I just overrode my EDID with a fake .INF (was a pain in the ass because of Windows secure boot and driver enforcement tho) I forced a BenQ XL2411T driver (same panel), and low and behold, I now have the option for 120hz or 144hz in control panel. But, I can't test tho since I don't have a...

WTF? My old VE248H has a 120hz/144hz panel?!
I just found that the VE248H I just got for €50 has a AUO M240HW01 V8 panel, which is the standard panel found in all 120hz and 144hz monitors. The monitor, obviously, is an old 60hz monitor... What does this mean? Is there some hack potential to turn this monitor into a 120hz/144hz one? Alternative...

Re: ASUS VE248H (Black Level Settings Permanent? EEPROM?))
Hello! Yeah 2) I got already, one option here is using the cmdline of Screenbright which allows sending VCP commands, including for the black levels. And even better, EasyMCC, which IMHO is great since it has all the stuff like Brightness/Contrast AND allows the black level settings. (I am using thi...

ASUS VE248H (Black Level Settings Permanent? EEPROM?))
I got a VE248H which is a fantastic monitor for a standard LCD monitor, probably best standard 24" I ever had. (It does NOT have the dreaded ghosting. Monitor was made in August 2012) However, it has a *minor* issue, that is that the black levels have a slight hue towards brownish regardless of the ...
