If you are running Windows 7 or even Windows XP (I'm not 100% sure if Windows 8 does this or not), then your mouse is automatically limited to 125Hz. Some mice are able to override this with drivers but I'm pretty sure not many do (even good quality gaming mice).

I use Lightboost 10%. Haven't even tried the other brightness settings as 10% works great for me and the motion clarity is unbelievable. Circle strafing in CSS is sweet with Lightboost.

I would use Lightboost and lower the graphics/AA accordingly to achieve an average 120+ FPS. It's worth the sacrifice I would say.

F.lux worked with Crysis 3, I know that for sure. Counter-Strike Source automatically disables it though. I haven't tested it with many other games as of right now.
