Re: Good News Everyone: 60Hz Single Strobe Options

Why would I want to flood my monitor with specific frequencies when I can just have the emulator output the precise framerate the console asks for and let G-Sync take care of the rest? Users should just be given free agency over whether they want their monitor to single strobe down to whatever lowes...

Re: Good News Everyone: 60Hz Single Strobe Options

I'm a firm believer in VRR ULMB. I am running the CRU hack for my PG279Q and enjoying 60hz emulators with single strobe perfectly synced framerate. It's really important that it's VRR based instead of just 60hz v-sync because NES runs at 60.1hz and without that proper syncing of the .1 you end up wi...

Re: Steam friends & Chat window causing micro stutter

Yep happens to me too. I turned off the flashing when a new message is received and that at least helps with playing fullscreen games and I get a message so it no longer causes stuttering. It's pretty damning that playing in supposed exclusive fullscreen mode, a blinking taskbar icon can cause stutt...

PG279Q RMA Woes; A plea for help

Greetings all, I purchased two PG279Q back in October 2017. They came with the g-sync firmware that corrected the old notorious vertical line bug from 2016 (official ASUS post here: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?87380-Firmware-Update-for-ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q). I never once saw this bug on ei...

Re: G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!

Just to update, I managed to get it working again on drivers 416.94 and Windows 10 1607. But I wanted to bring light to something that I find personally to be a far better solution than hacking g-sync to work with ULMB. Rivatuner Scanline Sync. Basically you get the benefits of super low input lag w...

Re: Actual refresh rate varying from time to time?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. One thing to note is the behavior is visible even with just fullscreen mode g-sync engaged. Perhaps it's a flaw that requires a restart to fully change, but it was showing the same lower than expected refresh rate just toggling on fullscreen only mode on and off.

Re: Actual refresh rate varying from time to time?

It turns out it's from g-sync being on. I turned it off and my refresh rate is always spot on 144.00hz again. As soon as I turn g-sync back on it starts to fluctuate in these web browser tests, typically 143.5-8hz.

Actual refresh rate varying from time to time?

Using: https://www.vsynctester.com/ My ASUS PG279Q's real fresh rate varies from time to time and I have no idea what is causing the variation. Sometimes it's as low as 143.55Hz, other time it's spot on 144.00Hz. Right now it's 143.81Hz. What's going on and is this indicative of a problem with my di...

Re: G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!

Strange. Was it a driver upgrade? Can you try the tweak using ToastyX CRU, instead of NVIDIA Custom Resolution? (Or vice versa, if you did it the other way before) If you did via ToastyX, maybe try ToastyX "reset-all.exe" I did use CRU the first time. Did try it in Nvidia control panel and still no...

Re: ULMB 60Hz Guide

Yes, the GearVR strobing mode hack. Lots of fun on Android OLED phones! Did you do the VT trick in NVIDIA Control Panel, or via ToastyX? The VT tricks are MUCH more reliable in ToastyX. (That said: With that, you need to reboot or run restart64.exe for it to take effect -- a little more cumbersome ...
