Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

Low Latency Ultra is no longer capping fps here in the newest 446.14 drivers (gsync + vsync on) It doesn't seem to apply consistently to all games (for example, it never capped the fps for me in HALO MCC when I tried -> the game still does not run adequately after several game patches and driver up...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

Yes, it's not fullscreen total blanking kind of flicker (I know what that looks like, it happened in HDR when I force-enabled G-Sync with early beta VGA driver and pre-Gsync public TV firmware). It's a slight shift in the tone response (~gamma) on near-black shades. A similar thing is observed when ...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

It's not that I try to be against GSync+Vsync on principle. I simply like experimenting and this tearing thing seemed a little weird at first (compared my paper shaped expectations). I am much more concerned about the flickering of dark shades near the low end of the range, so the tearing test was o...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

What I am wondering about if it's normal to have tearing with a low fps cap and G-Sync without V-Sync. Off the topic but since I wish to refer back to this... I managed to get FreeSync working on the LG C9 and a Ryzen+Vega notebook. It behaves the same as G-Sync Compatible: occasional and small but...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

The game from earlier was DA:I (Frostbite3) but it was always jittery (that's why I keep it around for testing, I wonder if I will ever have a PC which can run it without stutters :D). Today, I tested this with Half-Life 2 (last steam vanilla version). I was running in parallel with a metal fence wh...

Probably their new DCH drivers that was wonky. Didn't autocap FPS in neither CSGO or Apex Legends. Reinstalled with standard drivers instead and it works.
I guess "clean" installing the same version would have produced the same result.

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

As far as I'm aware, the NULL auto-cap with G-SYNC only engages in (non-DX12/Vulkan) games that allow external manipulation of the pre-rendered frames queue My experience says otherwise. Frostbite3 based games in DX11 mode never seem to respond to LLM's queue manipulation (judging by the obvious ef...

Re: Driver 441.08: Ultra-Low Latency Now with G-SYNC Support

Ultra should still limit the fps, I think. It's probably a bug in the driver (sometimes it doesn't engage for some DX 9-11 games like HALO:MCC, I am not sure if this randomness is limited to the fps capping or the entire LLM functionality). And Ultra was never supposed to work with Vulkan or DX12. A...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Unfortunately, I have recently fallen out of favor with G-Sync and VRR in general. My experience with LG's 2019 4K OLEDs and their Black Frame Insertion mode has been eye opening. As we are all no doubt aware, these are effectively mutually exclusive technologies due to frame persistence. For me, G...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

I have a stupid question (I think I should know the answer but I seem to have forgotten the details which lead to it): Do external framerate limiters (nV V3, RTSS, etc) add any delay (simply from being hooked into the chain) while the fps is below the cap (due to CPU and/or GPU performance limitatio...
