strange response time behavior on Samsung Odyssey G7
The review of Samsung Odyssey G7 by TFTcentral is online. I notice that both response time and overshoot stays quite constant accross a wide refresh rate range of 60~240 HZ with adaptive-sync enabled. Tftcentral says there's no variable overdrive on this panel. This result is amazing, but how could ...

Suggestion to Rtings: Minimum Brightness Achievable
Sorry this maybe a little off topic here,,, Rtings makes exlellent reviews. But they really need to add "MIN luminance" to their desktop monitors scores. This is extremely important for office use. Actually, as a desktop monitor, office use should always be a very big considration for design. "Gamin...

Re: Is G-Sync still worth it or should I go FreeSync?
I'm very curious about how dynamic overdrive is implemented on non-GSYNC displays. Actually, I haven't even found a single Freesync model behaves like GSYNC via TFTcentral's reviews. The nVidia offical GSYNC compatible monitor list indicates that all these monitors without GSYNC modules don't suppor...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
Which scanout diagram is correct while using GSYNC + VSYNC OFF when frame rate is higher than refresh rate? Refresh cycle : Frame time ~= 3:2 A: similar with pure NO SYNC B: Part of the current frame (eg. frame 2) will be abandened, the next refresh cycle (cycle 2)starts synchronously with delivery ...

However, I can't find tear lines even with VSYNC disabled...Chief Blur Buster wrote: Not necessarily, if VSYNC OFF tearing is available in borderless windows mode.

WOW 8.0 abandons FULL SCREEN mode
WOW 8.0 now only supports WINDOS mode and BORDLESS WINDOWS mode. Does this mean we are forced to use non-blocking triple buffering? How would you config your game if you do not have a GSYNC monitor? Assuming you can run the game at ~80FPS. This is my personal choice: - Use VSYNC OFF - For a 60HZ mon...

OH Yes! Very accurate capture. This is exactly I alway want to know. Thank you for the explanation.Chief Blur Buster wrote:What is the prevailing frame presentation timing -- beginning of VBI or end of VBI?

Re: Motion smoothness of 240Hz vs gsync
Here's my personal opinion. Go for a 240HZ monitor if you mainly play competitive games such as CSGO, OW or others that you can easily push the frame rate much higher than 144. Otherwise you should buy a 144HZ GSYNC monitor. Another factor is: the 240HZ panel has slightly better color performance th...

VSYNC ON lag behavior with big VBI (Large Vertical Total)
Here's an example of the timing diagram of an LCD controller/panel: http://www.lucadavidian.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/timings-1.jpg If we set the parameters in the CRU according to this https://www.blurbusters.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/img_590a83179a358.png Won't this make the actual scano...

Re: Acer Predator Z321QU
I also seen those new MSI but they are 25inch which is a little too short for me, i guess from 27 up is ok. Maybe msi release some 27 g-sync version of those new very fast monitors. Would be nice, i don`t even care about the price, if it`s fast and it works without issued all should be well worth i...
