Re: Discussion about Phosphor Fade Simulation / Rolling-Scan Software BFI
Could this tech be used with VR headsets? I tried VR for the first time with a Quest 3 and my eyes couldn't tolerate the flickering. I think a lot more people could tolerate VR if the image didn't flicker.

Adrenalin software says laptop display supports Freesync despite it not being advertised and not working with VRRTest
I bought a Lenovo Yoga 7 2in1 that has a Ryzen 7 8840HS with 780M graphics. It did not advertise Freesync support, but the Adrenalin control panel detects it for some reason. Here's a pic: https://imgur.com/a/kV6ppv4 . I've tried both the VRRtest program and the Nvidia Pendulum demo and neither seem...

Re: How does the PSVR2 compare with the Quest 3 for eyestrain?
I'm afraid that there isn't a fix for this, as there are only 2 ways to deal with motion blur: strobing and brute-forcing higher refresh rates (the preferred way forward) If you're sensitive to strobing at 120hz on the Quest 3 (it seemingly supports it from my quick google search), no other device ...

How does the PSVR2 compare with the Quest 3 for eyestrain?
I bought a Quest 3 (first time using VR) and my eyes felt terrible after only a short time using it. Fairly certain it's not motion sickness but strain caused by the backlight flickering since I only tried stationary games. I know this is necessary to produce good motion quality, so now I'm wonderin...

Re: How to Fix Ghosting/Double Image When Displaying 30 FPS on 165 HZ display?
Well, he is wrong. LFC cannot induce any double-image effect nor increase motion blur. At 30FPS for example, LFC will drive the display at 60Hz and scan out the frame twice. Without LFC, the display would run at 144Hz (on a 144Hz display) and the frame would be scanned out 4 times, not just two. On...

Re: How to Fix Ghosting/Double Image When Displaying 30 FPS on 165 HZ display?
In a Digital Foundry video, Alex explains that using LFC with a high refresh rate monitor will suffer from the double image effect. So, when playing a game that is locked to 60hz, is it better to set the monitor to 60hz and use VRR that way?

Anyone have experience with portable OLED monitors?
I've been thinking about getting one of these but can't find any decent reviews. There was at least one review on this forum of the Innocn 15.6" 4k, but I was curious about the Viewsonic and Asus offerings. I would be interested in input lag/motion performance/near black performance etc.. Also, do a...

Re: Is it possible to set a custom frame rate cap with Reflex?
Stutters that does not show on RTSS graph but on the display can be caused by many things. If you're using generic VRR, it is sometimes caused by the graphics/drivers/drivers inability to perfectly framepace VRR well. This varies from monitor to monitor and from GPU to GPU, and from Windows 10 vs 1...

Re: Is it possible to set a custom frame rate cap with Reflex?
The latency guard cap must at least be microscopically lower than the stutter guard cap. https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12261&p=95941 It works in certain situations like - DLSS 3 frame interpolation, or - Stuttery emulators (internal cap), with RTSS to smooth it. I got some comp...

Re: Is it possible to set a custom frame rate cap with Reflex?
Not necessarily a placebo; the Reflex limiter is engine level, and the RTSS limiter is external. In my past testing, engine-level limiters are typically 1/2 to 1 frame lower latency than external limiters (RTSS, Nvidia Max Frame Rate, etc). That said, yes, RTSS can tend to have steadier frame pacin...
