Re: Buying ASUS VG248QE G-Sync versus waiting for AOC G2460P

Did you order the kit from the nvidia website and than used shipito to get it overseas? I'm very tempted to...

Re: We need sub-millisecond persistence (<1ms) strobe backli
Thanks for the detailed response. Adding artificial motion blur (GPU effect) to fill the stepping between refreshes also fixes the stroboscopic problem at the cost of added blur. Would it really fix it, though? From what I understand, even stationary objects can strobe, on a low persistence display,...

Re: We need sub-millisecond persistence (<1ms) strobe backli
I finally got my VG248QE (still waiting for the DIY KIT) and one of the first things I did was play HL2 120fps@120Hz with LightBoost (10% brightness). Completely amazing experience obviously, if only I didn't have to look at a monitor, but could step into this world! (Luckily DK2 is coming soon!) We...

I really wish I could set my mouse to a 960Hz polling rate now...flood wrote:easier way to see microstutters:
get a 500hz or 1000hz mouse + strobed monitor
compare reading dragged text when monitor is set to 100hz vs to 120hz. At 100hz, there is no microstutter at all.
