Should I cap my fps

Here's a graph from 5 minutes of gaming on Apex Legends : http://i68.tinypic.com/2wcpoue.jpg The min was around 80, the highest is 177 (I have a 180hz monitor, capped to 177 with rtss), the average is around 120. I didn't notice any frametime spikes - nothing that makes it obvious I should change so...

Re: XB241H factory oc white lines

Sounds like this is something I'll have to live with. Thanksfully the problem is way less noticeable at 144hz, and there isn't much difference between it and 180hz.

XB241H factory oc white lines

So I finally upgraded to 144hz, and it looks amazing ! I've got the XB241H which can be overclocked to 180hz (through the on screen display), but when I do so, bright white horizontal lines maybe 1 pixel or half a pixel wide appear every 4 or 5 pixels. They're easy to see to the left of the screen b...

Re: Are the XB240H and XB241H good monitors ?

Aaah yes, a mistake on my part. They both have ULMB. And I was misled, I saw the XB240H in the gsync list and didn't bother to check the specs but the one at 260 doesn't have gsync. I'll dig around a bit more. Any "affordable" gsync 1080p monitors other than the XB241H ? Seems like I underestimated ...

Are the XB240H and XB241H good monitors ?

Hey, I tried asking over at r/monitors and r/buildapc but I didn't get any answers. I want to finally upgrade to gsync and 120+ hz so I'm looking for some advice ! The former is priced at 260€ here, the latter at 370€. I couldn't find cheaper gsync monitors and I don't have a lot of money. The XB240...

Re: How do I eliminate frametime spikes from FPS drops (Gsyn

I see. Pc gaming is a rabbit hole isn't it ? There's always something to upgrade, always a higher framerate to chase after. Doesn't 90 fps look stuttery after you get used to looking at a game at 141 fps for a while ? I keep hearing people say that you can't go back to 60 after having experienced 12...

Re: How do I eliminate frametime spikes from FPS drops (Gsyn

Thanks for sharing. So you usually lock your fps if you can't get a stable 144/165fps ? If you don't, do you get the kind of stuttering op has or is it because the framerate fluctuations are too noticeable ?

Re: How do I eliminate frametime spikes from FPS drops (Gsyn

This is interesting. I thought going from a 60hz fixed refresh rate monitor to a 144hz vrr monitor was a straight-up improvement, but it also has downsides. And if I understand correctly, depending on your hardware, there can actually be so many downsides that you can get cornered into using your mo...

Re: Is gsync that good ?

So out of the 4 frames of delay you're talking about, 1 is the first scan, 1 is the second scan and 2 are the pre-rendered frames ? Are we talking about the setting in the nvidia control panel or something specific to games ? If I set it to 1, would that be 3 frames of delay instead of 2 ? 16 ms doe...

Re: Is gsync that good ?

3 or 4 frames in the past ? Alright, I think I have the wrong idea about how vsync works. The way I understand it, the gpu has a back buffer and a front buffer. It renders a frame into the back buffer, then when it's done swaps it with the front buffer before rendering the next frame. The monitor sc...
