Re: RTSS now has new automatic Low-Lag VSYNC ON (raster based)

Sorry, but depending on the page in this thread, there is advice not to use Vsync ON, and there is to combine with Vsync ON (or other Vsync types). Then there is this guide https://bit.ly/3gV313K that says to put the line at top or bottom or out of visible area for example, similar to some advice in...

Re: Triple buffering, flip queue, D3D9ex, FastSync...

XP didn't have DWM, it was introduced in either vista or win 7 ( I think vista?), and DWM in vista and win 7 (aero) was kinda crap, win 8.1 it's not that much better, but recent win 10 versions have made it better, less input lag penalty I assume. I've no idea what you mean by fastsync, does win 10...

Re: Triple buffering, flip queue, D3D9ex, FastSync...

-- Win 7's aero theme apply a DWM, which is the desktop compositor, it regulates stuff on the screen, in our case, it forces vsync among other things to make things look smooth, as well as allow microsoft and other developers to do some GUI stuff easier. Games can still go above 60fps, it will just...

Triple buffering, flip queue, D3D9ex, FastSync...

So after reading the all famous Anand article, the various guides, the Reddit flamewars, the NVidia's FastSync presentation, the Win10 Game Mode and Fullscreen Optimisations, I'm really confused. Can someone knowledgeable spare some time and please explain how is FastSync different from Triple Buffe...

Re: 1600 dpi is better than 800 or 400 dpi due to faster mouse latency

The reason people use lower DPI, usually 400 or 800 is because apparently you get less jitter from the sensor or something along them lines, to be honest I'm not really sure how true that even is and if it is the mouse and sensor tech is much better now than it was when that came about. When you sa...

Re: 1600 dpi is better than 800 or 400 dpi due to faster mouse latency

I still don't really get what you are saying about "not touching ingame sensitivity", it is there to be adjusted to how you like it, there isn't a 1:1 of what the game should be played on, its just preference. And I think you have still misunderstood the thread like I already said, the DPI isn't ho...

Re: 1600 dpi is better than 800 or 400 dpi due to faster mouse latency

You still choose your ingame sensitivity no matter what DPI your mouse is, anybody can get the same turn circle distance with any DPI by upping or lowering the game sens, you don't just load the game and play on its default setting. The post isn't talking about actual mouse sens per pixel, its talk...

Re: 1600 dpi is better than 800 or 400 dpi due to faster mouse latency

Just one question. The higher the DPI, the faster you're mouse/movement in-game is. Now for example, say 1600 DPI is too fast for you. You have 6/11, or a "proper" raw_input that doesn't interpolate. Doesn't every game have a sensitivity slider that works identically to 6/11 slider in Win Control Pa...

Re: Regarding FPS > Hz

1. But the input lag at 60/60 fastsync is equal to regular double buffer Vsync, right? Or is there a hidden benefit? 2. I just tested 63fps, got a mismatch stutter as expected every now and then. But on 60, 60.1, 60.2, it was smooth, and I've been strafing & staring at a wall for a good few minutes...

Re: Regarding FPS > Hz

Technically it will still work, but it will look like trash If my memory serves my correctly, the outcome is long periods of smoothness followed by long periods of stutter. fast sync removes the tearing, but not the stutter caused by fps/hz mismatch. It will be visible in the form of skipped frames...
