Re: Samsung Odyssey 'Scanlines' (G9 + Others)

I just managed to record a video where this is very pronouned, so will try to upload it somewhere and link it. It's 48MB and I don't seem to be able to upload it here. I'm just trying to establish if all of these monitors do this and if so, why. Also, I'm trying to establish if there is a variance b...

Re: Samsung Odyssey 'Scanlines' (G9 + Others)

Here's another (long) reddit thread where the issue is discussed:

Samsung Odyssey 'Scanlines' (G9 + Others)

Multiple people are reporting horizonal lines that appear on the screen when viewing certain types of images and test paterns. The pixel inversion test also 'triggers' this behaviour. Here's a link to a discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/jc2mdp/samsung_odyssey_g9_horiz...

Re: Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Visi

The projector is the only display active on my setup during testing, but I am currently running it via an AVR. I still need to try it direct from the pc, although other users with other similar projectors are having the same problem and I don't believe they are all hooked up via AVR. Regardless, I d...

Re: Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Visi

I believe displayhz gave exactly the same frequency as your UFO refresh rate test, although obviously your UFO tests are vastly superior :-) I'm not quite clear on what you're proposing though? Do I need to create a custom resolution in CRU and make sure it matches exactly what the UFO test says? Th...

Re: Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Visi

Hi there, Just before Christmas I had to scratch the itch and purchased a BenQ TK800 4k projector. It supports 120hz input at 1920x1080 and I've verified this using your UFO test and other tools such as https://www.displayhz.com/. I've been able to activate 3d vision mode but I'm having a desynchron...

Re: Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Visi

That's fantastic and I've learnt a lot, thanks so much :-) Your level of knowledge is vast! I'm spending some time looking at the pursuit test results for a few displays. It's interesting when you compare the pixel response times and the static screen shots of the test. For one, you can see that for...

Re: Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Visi

Hi Mark and thanks the fantastically detailed reply. I've been a lurker here for some time and was aware of some of what you're written, but it's brilliant to have it all in one place :-) One thing I didn't know about was: "To reduce cross talk further, make your colors slightly duller (about 10-20%...

Shutter Glasses - Active 3D Displays Like NVIDIA 3D Vision

Hello to all the experts here! Please bear with me as this is related to high frequency displays. Sorry for the rambling post but I'm hoping to get some useful feedback. Over on the Nvidia 3d vision forum we're desperate to get good quality 3d and options are limited. Nvidia's own solution these day...
