Firstly, welcome to Blur Busters Forums! Modifying the monitor firmware is extremely difficult and often costs more time than the purchase of a new monitor. It sometimes requires jailbreaking the monitor firmware, and there's a very small market for that (unlike phones) since discovering the cracks...
