Well the Viewsonic was advertised as having 10 bit support. Kind of false advertising. So wanted to see if there was a way to turn it on via DRU and experiment. Wonder if the same CRU 'LCD Reduced' timings trick on the VG259QM will work to expose 10 bit as an option on the Viewsonic monitor?

Was able to get into the service menu finally. Turned on OD120 but can't find shadowboost option perhaps because I have HDR turned on. Should I turn that off? And is there any reason to set it at 280mhz if even my gpu will never reach that frequency?

Well I tried pressing and power at same time and I didn't see the factory menu but was able to go into the more information panel and see that I am on the MCM105 firmware. Can't figure out how to turn on 10-bit mode on this Viewsonic XG270QG monitor. According to Viewsonic's web site 10 bit is supported but its been greyed out in control panel and only 8 bit is displayed.

Was able to improve them maybe 1% better by routing soundblaster control through the monitor speakers using this guide:

Not much of an improvement. Speakers still suck.
