Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

Man, you spent so much time to help me thanks. Now the video quality is good, and the stutter effect is gone, but when I fullscreen the video, there is a 2 second black screen in between. It is almost as if I am alt+tab'ing a video game. That's normal. The video player has siezed exclusive control ...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

Found the issue. In the smplayer preferences, in the "General" section, in the "Video" tab, select "gpu" in the "Output driver" field. Then, go back to the advanced settings, and in the mpv options prepend "--gpu-api=opengl" so that it looks like this: --gpu-api=opengl --video-sync=display-resample...

Unless there are other places that I should set to mpv. Even when I installed both, that option was set to mpv by default.

I uninstalled and reinstalled again, this time unchecking mplayer (both were selected before, but mpv was still selected in that menu). Makes no difference

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

Are you sure it's a 24FPS video you're trying to watch? Press Shift+i to display video information. It will list the video's FPS. It is indeed 24. And my monitor is 120hz atm. I downloaded mpv, added a video file to the folder and mkv --video-sync=display-resample --interpolation --profile=gpu-hq -...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

Wait, I had a typo in the options. A missing "-". Copy them again. Also, make sure you switched your desktop to 60Hz. As said previously, 120Hz or 144Hz will not work. No change at all. I had also tried "--video-sync=display-resample --interpolation" I dont think that options line is having any eff...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

In smplayer, open the preferences. In the "advanced" section (it's the last one), go to the "mplayer/mpv" tab. Enter these options in the "options" field. Without quotes. If you want the highest quality filters too, then you can copy my options: --video-sync=display-resample --interpolation --profi...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

"--video-sync=display-resample --interpolation" options and select a refresh rate that will force MPV to interpolate frames to reach the nearest FPS that fits exactly. So tried bakamplayer smplayer and mpv, but i dont see where I can enter that. I tried entering it to bakamplayer command line and i...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

Yes, that's the main problem with SVP. Too many artifacts like that. Another big artifact are the edges of the image. Like the left and right edge during a fast horizontal camera pan. Using MPV to watch videos instead, and using the options I mentioned above, is a better option here. I will try doi...

Re: Videos (in particular anime) looks stuttery on my 144hz

SVP is great for actual frame rate increases, but if you don't like the "soap opera" effect, you can use MPV on its own. (It happens to be the player I use.) You need to use the "--video-sync=display-resample --interpolation" options and select a refresh rate that will force MPV to interpolate fram...
