Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
I'm torn about the XG258Q. It does offer objectively better performance metrics for me in Aim Lab over my 144hz monitors. Wish I could find an acceptable trade off for the overdrive settings. Observed in Test UFO with my sample; OD level 3 gives very obvious colourful shadowy overshoot which I find...

Re: Asus ROG XG258Q owners please help
Damn it. I wish I'd have known that the settings stick even after a factory reset from within that menu. I just learned about this F menu and accidentally altered random RGB values (quite easy to do if it's your first time navigating.), but assumed they'd reset, so I wasn't fussed at the time. A lot...

XG258Q - Scratches - Anti-Glare Removal?
My display has several scratches on it. Even though I thought this would happen I chanced using 'Displex Scratch Remover' with a microfibre cloth attached to a Dremel bit (slow setting.) It of course just started to make the area glossy with no noticeable scratch reduction so I stopped. I'd say its ...

Re: Asus XG258Q video settings
What settings are you people using for the best picture for single player games where OD and such doesn't matter? Any to Notty_PT: Are you still using those exact settings for competitive play? You mention here 'Color Temp - User mode' But in this thread you said 'normal'. Which is it?: https://foru...

Re: Asus Rog XG258Q flickering issue
I have the same issue. But it only happens occasionally. When it happens it doesn't show up on any other monitor, so it's the display I highly assume. Can't be bothered linking it another machine and waiting days for it to happen. Not quite sure what triggers it either. Here's my issue: https://www....

Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
Ah yes, of course. I haven't touched my monitor since I started this thread. I have a terrible memory. I just noticed DisplayWidget isn't working for me now. "Selected monitor not supported". Strange because I used it the other day to re-apply notty's settings because I saved over it by accident. I ...

Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
Yes.
I don't think he mentioned DDC/CI. I don't even see those in my monitor options.
Did you download it from the correct page?

Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
He already said what settings he uses in this thread:

Here's the file if you use 'ASUS DisplayWidget':
(My Gdrive is full so it will have to be mediafire)

Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
It isn't fit for sale in my books. On very basic graphical games like QL/TFC/CS 1.6 you can deal with OD 3. But modern titles look like turd even at OD 2, as you said. 3 is unusable. I've been playing Hunt: Showdown and OD 3 is unplayable. I might jump on the ASUS forums and give the monitor a bashi...

Re: Asus XG258 Questionable Overdrive
Hi, thanks. Yeah, got one now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018W6LA8E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Although, the Freddie Ikea desk isn't compatible with it since you cannot tighten the clamp. I couldn't be bothered returning it since it was partly my faultand it was cheap...
