I gave my XL2420 another go today. Since I no longer have a PC with a compatible output, I opted to use a Raspberry Pi for flashing. Tried it again today with a DVI cable and my NVIDIA card. It still failed to flash (mismatch at 0x00000030), but at least the display started working again.
