I got it to work! It's a tiny C++ program, if you want to compile it, it uses the Windows Driver Kit for a v-sync function. What are you supposed to do with that code? That's just a code snippet I put into my own copy of the source code to get the program detecting my primary monitor; I have a multi-monitor setup. Thanks, that means a lot to me! I was lucky to find good code examples to borrow from. The blanking inverval event was the hardest part for sure, I've wondered for a long time how you're supposed to do that without a library like SDL. I used DwmFlush() at first, then only found D3DKMTWaitForVertica...

So I got ahold of a black frame insertion fx script from reshade, however running a game at 130-ish fps (I got a 144hz monitor) it flickers like crazy? What's the problem here? Shouldn't I not be able to see this at 130+fps/hz? You need a refresh-cycle-level filter, rather than a frame-level filter...

Ah ok, I think I'm gonna have to find a different method or something, because the moment I cap the framerate to below 100 the flickering stops, though I don't think it's working because the screen doesn't look any dimmer, nor do I notice any motion blur reduction.
