Re: Some mysterious effects on gameplay
Update - tl;dr - I found out a big factor for difference between single vs dual memory is ... memory size The memory kit is 2x8G and dual channel will have 16G total. I limited the memory size to 8G using "bcdedit /set truncatememory", and the gameplay starts to feel significantly snappier. This re...

Re: How can I disable GPU clocks lowering to save power?
Not sure what these guys are posting here, but only way it worked for me was to open up MSI afterbuner and just lock the clock speed at a specific hz, that's it. Once you open MSI afterbuner, press CTRL + F, that will bring up the frequency/voltage curve, then just pick the hz you want it to run at ...

Re: Lost on setup for Rocket League
Yes, but it depends, maybe you're monitor sucks and even though it might work fine at 175hz, it might not be stable. You could however reduce the resolution to e.g. 720p, that should allow you to push the hz higher without as much trouble. Will it be obvious if it's unstable? Or is there a gray are...

Re: Valorant, CS:GO on AMD
There was a guy here that recently updated his mobo bios to a beta version because apparently some or most people have had issues with their USB ports with the new ryzen 5000s CPUs and AMD recently fixed it in the beta drivers, might be worth it to update to that and try it out; cause he said he had...

Re: Lost on setup for Rocket League
100fps at 240Hz = LESS LAG than 100fps at 144Hz Would overclocking the monitor help even more then? Yes, but it depends, maybe you're monitor sucks and even though it might work fine at 175hz, it might not be stable. You could however reduce the resolution to e.g. 720p, that should allow you to pus...

Re: Lost on setup for Rocket League
Full screen for sure. I did toy with borderless for a few days though. Not sure that I noticed any difference. When I’m on full screen and i alt tab it does take a second yes. When I was borderless it brought up all the available tabs doe me to switch to yes. If that’s what you’re saying. I’m seein...

Re: Lost on setup for Rocket League
Holy shit it took a miracle for me to find this site. My google search terms for rocket league has to be real specific for me to get here! I’m so happy. I’m in a similar boat as OP. I have a 144hz VA panel (AOC). I know they aren’t very good after reading a few threads here. But if it’s just a GTG ...

Re: Lost on setup for Rocket League
Best way is get higher hz, generally soft cap seems to be around 240-360hz, after that point you'll get small improvements. Other than that, make sure you're running in fullscreen exclusive and that it is indeed running in fullscreen exclusive to disable the dwm (at 120hz that should give you about ...

Re: PS/2 with modern systems
It's also pertinent to note that AMD was having USB issues till they investigated the problem and fixed it with an AGESA update. Personally I upgraded my AMD X570/5k series chip gaming rig to a beta bios with the patch/fix and it's a huge improvement. So my experience before is not reflective of ot...
