Re: Fix for input lag
In my opinion, this one is a placebo, or at least I was not affected by the bug it tries to fix. There was no change in the mouse feeling and no change in the numbers (reflex latency, FPS, 1% low, etc.). I also tried human benchmark and it was on my average.

Re: Fix for input lag
It's the first time in years that something new has come out and been well received. Curious to test this later.
What mayh justify this? Some background process listening for events to check if something has changed, like brightness or something like that?

Re: IO causing micro-stutters / mini freezes in all games. How to solve ?
Advice: 1) Forget about interrupts/IRQs/priorities and focus on disk access, including writing and reading speeds and latency. 2) SSDs become extremely slow when the disk is full (70% or more). Ensure this is not the case here. 3) Run a disk benchmark and ensure that your values are on par with onli...

Look at individual core usage with perfmon.

Re: Micro stutters in old games vs. overkill PC
For instance I tested SpecialK a few years ago in black mesa (~hl.2) using 9700k and it was a flat line.

Re: Micro stutters in old games vs. overkill PC
Some possible reasons: 1) Game trying to use a busy CPU thread. RGB software, scheduled tasks, buggy drivers, and other things could be causing load spikes in your core. Most are so fast that you hardly notice them in Afterburner but feel them. You can check it using Perfmon and the per-process CPU ...

Re: HUGE STUTTERS in every game...
Can you run Prime95 (small FTTs) and Ycruncher without trottle? Use HWInfo to check if the effective clock is the highest one and that there is no throttle reason.

Re: New finds in micro-stutter issue
Theory 1 sounds interesting. There is definitely something wrong with timings because during every gaming session I have a feeling that my PC is "dragging an anchor" and "chasing" the action on a server. I can clearly see that enemies' position is being adjusted all the time. My CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 58...

[quote=andrelip post_id=99448 time=1701179962 user_id=528] While tweaking my overclocked system, I encountered micro-stutters and explored their cause. Scenario A : When all P-cores are set at 55, the performance is smooth. Scenario B : With 4 P-cores at 56 and 4 at 55,...

Re: CSGO/CS2 observations (2 tweaks for you to try)
go with a higher refresh rate, 144hz is low for cs2 to run fluent nevertheless. Even 224fps cap is so so to handle fast moves, 260 at 280hz feels noticably better. Unfortunatelly, 360 or even 390hz is tricky to keep stable fps even at 7800X3D with beefy GPU. Its doable but you need to tune your PC ...
