Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
The PSU factor might be a legit option. I bought a 550w and 650W of the same series gold level seasonic designs. The 550W was superior to the 650W unit subjectively and I'm not exactly sure why. I ultimately decided to keep my older PSU when rebuilding my computer since it wasn't that big of a diff...

Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
If you would have told me EMI impacts general usage and gaming 5+ years ago, I would have though the person was just making excuses, but Its kinda obvious here. Yeah, a modern computer is error-corrected to the wazoo and all the interference can sometimes cause a computer to simply stall briefly (l...

Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
A thicker and shorter DP cable will mean 2 things: It is a worst antenna for the interference (shorter), and it has additional shielding (thicker). That is likely the reason the short cable preforms better. I have toyed a lot around with the idea of this EMI/EMF only really affecting the monitor di...

Re: Placebo or a possibility? USB ports and mouse feel.
You cant really generalize this because different chipsets and 3rd party controllers are used on a mobo to mobo basis. The new RYZEN 3000 cpus generally run 2-4 Direct CPU line 3.1 gen1/2 ports to the back panel where the rest come from the chipset and or 3rd party controllers. Intel is currently ru...

Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
A battery operated UPS likely isn't a long term solution and unless you buy something super expensive, it probably isn't a valid option unless the device has significant EMI/RFI suppression that somehow helps. Even if you rely on the battery power, a half decent modern gaming PC will only last 1-2 m...

Re: input lag at 97% GPU usage vs 90% GPU usage with 240hz
You could be experiencing EMI issues. Not an expert on the topic, but capping the FPS does feel a lot better in this situation and mitigates what could be perceived as lag. It's likely not lag but interference of the signal which I assume makes your cursor feel muddy and harder to aim at a setting y...

Re: Good PC with high input lag on 240hz
OP: This is kinda hard to recommend, but I have a THICK gauge, VERY SHORT DP cable from an LG monitor that significantly reduces the "lag" feel on the Alienware G-sync. Not All DP cables are created equal and most aftermarket cables feel identical to the supplied DELL, but this solution helps the mo...
