Re: ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz Announced!
Personally witnessed this monitor 2 weeks ago in a demo, and pushed it to 2880 and 3840 pixels/sec on the Test UFO video game panning test. Text was clear to read at 2880, and just slightly too challenging for my eyes at 3840, while the comparative 240 and 360 FPS baselines weren't even close. Haven...

Re: CES 2023 New Samsung neo G9 8k 900hz
This is a very fascinating rumor -- I need to fish a small message out to my contacts to see if this is anything true. It also says it can only hit 900 Hz at 1440p. It's half-8K since it's an ultrawide. I wonder if it does the Zisworks technique of pixel-row binning to milk 480Hz out of a 4K120Hz p...

Re: Samsung QD OLED
Anything being recorded - assuming it's being done correctly - is a brightness oscillation with the panel refresh, not a backlight pulse. The intensity recorded suggests that's being measured with a moving image? And even then, it's 50 nits, not 100. The chart with 100 brightness is the supposed 26...

Re: Samsung QD OLED
I doubt the brightness change even registers physiologically, at least beyond the tiniest response in photoreceptors. Compare to other monitors, I can certainly feel the stress when looking at it. The brightness graph shows increased 100nits dip in just SDR, not even mentioning HDR. https://i.imgur...

Re: Samsung QD OLED
This has been covered a fair bit, and isn't anything like PWM-based dimming solutions from the past. It's a normal feature of OLED panels, and shouldn't be an issue for eye strain. I think this is likely why the flickering is worse. The frequency of the flickering is the same as the refresh rate of...

It seems AW3423DW has strange flickering. How long can you play games with this monitor? Hae you ever noticed any fatigue? https://youtu.be/Ny7Nlk0V9DA .
