Wow, this 119hz with 2269 Total Pixels Vertical is something else.
Significant improvements in the center to lower part of the screen.

Here is my default 119hz:

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

I just bought this monitor today and am waiting for Amazon to ship it. After I'd already bought it I saw in a review that you can't use PureXP and gsync at the same time. That's a big bummer. Is it possible this could be fixed with a firmware update? If not, why can't both be used at the same time?...

Setup menu, Power Indicator.
I was really glad to be able to disable it.

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

You're upgrading from 144hz to 240hz, plus IPS benefits (and freesync if you don't have that already).
Running it at 100 or 120hz in strobbing mode (purexp) is simply a different option that gives CRT-like performance, great for some but not all games.

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

You get a double image effect. (clear image, but double)
Cap to 80 fps, and get a triple image effect.

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

In the topic of 119hz vs 120hz I find 119hz to be much better due to lack of inverse ghosting. They seem to be tuned differently.

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

Also my screen blacks out from time to time when using Gsync, but that might be Nvidia's driver to blame. I had that issue aswell, I fixed it by using CRU to set the VR limit from 48 - 240 to 55-240. No more black screens once I changed the lower VRR limit. Open CRU(Custom Resolution Utility) and h...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

Disclaimer - I'm not an expert on this The way I understand strobbing is that if you were to photograph a single frame, the picture should be (nearly) perfect. You should not be able to tell if the player was strafing, running, panning or looking around. Any observable blur would be due to how we pe...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

You didn't specify your framerate. With PureXP ON do you get exactly 120 fps? Anything less and it will look very stuttery. Higher fps will also introduce tearing. Easiest way to check if it's working is to look at the ground texture and strafe in one direction (with FPS=HZ). Ground texture and obje...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

When I swapped display port with HDMI, the refresh rate got limited to 120hz max (instead of 240), and gsync menu disappeared in the control panel. Games with lower than 120fps started to stutter.
Maybe it's different with AMD cards.

PureXp still works.
