Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
Set OD to "ultra fast". Play with the tests here: https://www.testufo.com/photo Try Pure xp on and off (adaptive sync needs to be deactivated). And try various refresh rates (and brightness levels if you flashed a newer monitor firmware). Ghosting is normal without backlight strobing (pure xp) due t...

I don't know why, but "ultra fast" seems to be better than "fastest" (which has inversion artifacts)

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
I just enabled Adaptive Sync, selected the Realistic 'Game Mode', lowered the brightness and used Lagom to check my white and black saturation, color banding. (color range and color space set to auto) http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php The realistic profile takes care (and locks) saturation, gam...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
G-sync is all about the monitor refreshing when it receives a new frame. The monitor Hz setting is basically the upper limit. So: - either use software to limit the framerate (driver or ingame settings if available) - or, like you said, create a custom resolution to cap the max refresh rate G-sync s...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
I for one love not having to stand right in the middle of the screen for a good picture. Sometime I slouch in my seat but the colors are still ok. If I did that with my TN the whole top of the screen would go really dark. Edge of the screen might be brighter/glow in movies or any dark content, but I...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
Test the monitor with another PC. Either the monitor is broken or your system is broken (windows/graphics card/drivers). When I enable adaptive sync the screen blanks out a few seconds, then nvidia notifies me that a gsync compatible screen has been detected. I can then enable gsync in the driver co...

Wow, this 119hz with 2269 Total Pixels Vertical is something else.
Significant improvements in the center to lower part of the screen.
Here is my default 119hz:

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
I just bought this monitor today and am waiting for Amazon to ship it. After I'd already bought it I saw in a review that you can't use PureXP and gsync at the same time. That's a big bummer. Is it possible this could be fixed with a firmware update? If not, why can't both be used at the same time?...

Setup menu, Power Indicator.
I was really glad to be able to disable it.

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]
You're upgrading from 144hz to 240hz, plus IPS benefits (and freesync if you don't have that already).
Running it at 100 or 120hz in strobbing mode (purexp) is simply a different option that gives CRT-like performance, great for some but not all games.
