Re: LG demos 4K true 120Hz OLED TV
First and foremost, I want to congratulate Mark and RTINGS.com for all of their work leading up to this point in time that we have the first television set to support 1080p with a 120Hz input including the proper EDID to do so. I purchased a C7 and I can vouch for the fact that it delivers simplicit...

Re: G-SYNC and framerate caps
The short answer people need to know is, "it depends." When I write video game software for windows, I process input events in a separate thread and I process the game update including physics in an additional separate thread. In this case (how games that vary according to arrival times on input dat...

Re: Temporal Aliasing (Tessive Time Filter)
Great post! This is a great explanation of the aliasing effect of limited exposure times. I think many people filming use continuous exposure times (360' shutter in his nomenclature), and in that case, the problem doesn't manifest as much. But for film guys who want a little bit more detail on the s...

Re: PMOLED/CRT (VFD) vs OLED by Sony
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_LED Sony has demonstrated displays with no motion artifacting at CES before. Crystal LED was one of the most compelling example. Other OLED displays also have the capability to demonstrate displays that have no motion artifacts from their nature being self-illumi...

Re: 1000hz mouse [Wireless?]
G500S and G700S are the only mice IMO. The Razers work too. Logitech is better.
Prefer wired, won't do wireless even when they do all the extra effort, it's wired for me.
G500S and worry about wireless if that's not good enough IMO.

Re: Experiences with Seiki 4K 50"
Seiki 50" is sample-and-hold the backlight is lit continuously. The pulsating you are seeing is that the backlight is ON while the LCD elements are refreshed at a (slow) 30hz rate. The panel apparently cannot be refreshed at 4K resolution any faster than 30fps. This is a limitaiton of the panel. Whe...

Re: Higher refresh rates on input and game update [programmi
My understanding is that the game loop can then read the queue of input, and use the most recent input found in the queue. The game update always uses old input data. The only time the most recent data can be used is if the last iteration of the game update per visual frame. Input data is generally...
