Does your computer have an Intel XHCI (USB 3) Controller?

Let's share and compare Windows' ETW MousePacketLatency results
Apparently Windows' `Microsoft.Windows.Win32kBase.Input` has an ETW trace provider that somehow knows about Windows' end-to-end mouse-pointer latency as measured by Windows' Raw Input Manager ("RIM"), and records them under events like `MouseLatency`, `MousePacketLatency`, `MouseLatencyRandomPick`. ...

Re: I finally found the reason behind my input lag after 6 years
HOLY CRAP! THANK YOU - your talk of Intel NICs was the lead I needed to investigate things and I then found suggestions to set `DisableTaskOffload` in this thread: https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8993&p=71548&hilit=DisableTaskOffload#p71548 - and that's eliminated about 80% of m...

Re: I finally found the reason behind my input lag after 6 years
Update : Ignore this post: when I wrote it my mouse-pointer's behaviour was significantly improved compared to before I rebooted, but after a few hours it gradually regressed again  --------------------------- HOLY CRAP! THANK YOU - your talk of Intel NICs was the lead I needed to investigate...

Re: Re: Power/EMI - Is there a way to detect "retransmits" in PCI-Express, etc?
Because this issue is not due to electro-magnetic fields. I have the problem, and a much better EM field detector than you. Levels here are normal and not of concern. There are more than just EMF based power issues that can affect a PC. Your readings are not very high next to the PSU either. Yeah, ...

Re: Re: Power/EMI - Is there a way to detect "retransmits" in PCI-Express, etc?
Also, I ordered an EMF detector from Amazon (just a cheap $30 thing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0754VVW4W ) and it arrived today. I used it around the house and it always read absolutely zero μT (so I assumed it was broken - surely there must be measureable EM fields everywhere?) but then I ...

Re: Re: Power/EMI - Is there a way to detect "retransmits" in PCI-Express, etc?
I did find this article that talks about PCI Express retransmissions and it explains how you can configure a Linux OS to get information about PCI Express retransmissions: http://billauer.co.il/blog/2011/07/pcie-tlp-dllp-retransmit-data-link-layer-error/ - I'll do some more reading on this and repor...

Re: Power/EMI - Is there a way to detect "retransmits" in PCI-Express, etc?
I'm posting this as a separate thread as it's a separate question that I didn't want to get lost in the noise of that otherwise excellent epic thread . In response to the "engineer's update" from earlier this month , they made a mention of this: We don't know what specific slowdowns were caused by -...

Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
Fun fact at my end - I'm also getting sporadic input lag issues on my monitor that started around October of last year - but I've been using a UPS (APC Back-UPS 1500, without software integration) since September. Both my primary monitor and system box are connected to the UPS (but my other monitors...
