Re: Warning about HP Customer Service

HP punishes those who complain, my warranty was cancelled soon after I sent my complaint to the BBB.

I gave CS another call yesterday and was told that the previous agents have lied to me in that they promised me the impossible & did not have access to the information given to me. I was told there ...

Re: Warning about HP Customer Service

Here's what I'm dealing with:

A. I was promised a replacement BEFORE I needed to return mine, I was told I MUST box it up the same way they ship to me. I have no reference for how they want this packed and am unwilling to pay for damages/refused RMA for not following the directions I was given.
B ...

Warning about HP Customer Service

I hope this is the right place/subforum for this, I've already posted on HP's subreddit & contacted the BBB and am getting desperate. I was promised by HP 2 months ago that I'd have a replacement monitor 'within the week' and it hasn't happened.

I have an Omen X 27 monitor which is suffering from ...

How do new 240hz TNs compare to older 1400p 144hz displays?

I'm shopping for a new 23-25" TN display and trying to balance factors of resolution, framerate, and raw image quality. I'll be running framerates between 80 & 150 in the games I'm currently playing at either 1080 or 1440p(CPU/RAM bottleneck.)
I understand the idea of having hz overhead to reduce ...

Re: Which VR HMDs have best low persistence mode?

I've used a mixture of Windows Mixed Reality(Samsung Odyssey, HP 1440p, HP Reverb) with the later being current with an R3600/RTX 2080 SUPER/NVME Drive/Properly configured 3200MHZ RAM(important, broken XMP can kill VR performance with Ryzen CPUs.)
My situation is a bit of an unholy trinity in that ...

Re: Which VR HMDs have best low persistence mode?

How do VR headsets deal with variable framerates in a technical sense? They don't have the ability to vary the speed they strobe like some ASUS monitors right?

No, they are fixed-refresh. I'm not aware of any VRR-capable headsets right now.

So that stuttery jerky look of a non locked(or ...

Re: TN = Less eyestrain?

Ha, every days bad light for me because I've been living in the nocturne. This actually allows me to control quite well for the room light factor as I have 2 lights with fully configurable bulbs(brightness & color.) One is setup behind me 10ft back and the other directly under/behind my monitor back ...

Re: Which VR HMDs have best low persistence mode?

How do VR headsets deal with variable framerates in a technical sense? They don't have the ability to vary the speed they strobe like some ASUS monitors right?

I know it's subjectively bad(just got out of a VR game which doesn't lock to hz or 1/2 hz) but why? Is the theory the same as with desktop ...

Re: TN = Less eyestrain?

What's the best place for learning about screen coatings? I hadn't considered that possibility and reflecting back(heh) it seems the screens I preferred have all been grainer/heavy-handed with the AG.
Not sure, I've been skimming DisplaySpecifications and everything I've owned is listed as AG ...

Re: TN = Less eyestrain?

I don't think so as I still fatigue on low brightness(say 10%.) And it's hard to see at that point which adds a different kind of strain.

Seating distance is a factor, I used to sit within 6-8" of the screen before I had PRK surgery, bad idea but it felt fine until I switched to IPS. Now I vary ...
