Re: Anandtech freesync review.

Why not fall back to the monitor's MAX refresh rate? That would be the same as having a fixed refresh rate. You would always be at 144hz and wouldn't eliminate any stuttering or tearing. That's better than the current freesync fallback case, which is 40hz without eliminating stuttering and tearing....

Re: Freesync drivers are finally out!

I read it here: ...we fired up a game that we knew could instantaneously swing from a high FPS (144) to a stalled state (0 FPS) and back again. As it turns out, EVE Online does this exact thing while taking an in-game screen shot... ...Again, this only occurs when games instantaneously drop to 0 FPS...

gsync is known to flicker if the fps drops to 0 specifically. calling that "very low" can be misleading. ;)

Re: G-sync Auto Enable

^ the latter. enabling it only allows using it as configured in 3d settings...
also, you can not enable both G-sync and 3DVision at the same time, regardless if they active (game) or not (desktop).

Re: G-SYNC and mouse cursor fluidity

it would only matter in a game which utilize a mouse cursor in-game, that is normally drawn at higher fps than the actual fps the game is rendered at (which is not always the case to begin with).

Re: Freesync better than gsync?

concerning AMD / Richard Huddy's claim that G-Sync always adds 1 frame of latency for buffering (obviously false), here's the official Nvidia response to that (29:48) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aG2kIUerD4c&list=UUdLWXfNqKICJBpE8jVMm6_w#t=1788 ^ they also refer to potential issues or not-that-go...

Re: Downsampling with VG248QE gsync

Update: I have installed the new Geforce 340.52 WHQL driver and finally there's good progress in this matter! screen flickering in G-Sync mode w/ high res downsampling @ 60hz (or any other res/hz combination) is completely gone, fixed ! however, I stumble into another issue now, which is fortunately...

...SoftMCCS is tantamount to directly adjusting your monitor via monitor’s on-screen (OSD) menus.

Re: Downsampling with VG248QE gsync

I setup all custom resolutions using auto timings, and have no problem adding 3840x2160 @ 60hz. higher DS res look better in 3d games, but DS desktop is not as sharp/perfect as in native res, and never will be, when scaling down larger area to fit on less pixels, even if NV used better scaling algor...
